Wanna Build a Snowman, Bats?!

A bit more ominous winter creations...but an interesting (and perhaps even funny) one at that. Here we see Joker himself have a bit of playful fun, crafting his very own themed snowman. Though it may look innocent on the outside, I'm sure on the inside there's quite a bit of explosives and Joker cards just waiting to be released. A very interesting build by Sad Brick

Nathaniel Stoner

My name is Nathaniel Stoner, and I am an very active LEGO builder.  I mostly build in the themes of castle and science-fiction, but I also dabble in other genres and create occasional random MOC's (My Own Creations).

When I was younger, I would get and build small LEGO sets for my birthday, but I was never really into them.  When they fell apart, I would become frustrated attempting to put them back together and would throw them in a box in my closet.  I couldn't stand them!

Then, miraculously, I became addicted to the LEGO brick later in my teen years.  Ever since, I have continued to build up (pun intended) my collection of bricks and to expand my knowledge of techniques and building skills.  LEGO is truly more than a toy, its an art form and a way to express yourself.

For the most part, I collect LEGO Star Wars (mainly the minifigs), which is probably my favorite LEGO theme.  I have a fairly decent collection, including some of the original 1999 sets, such as the Snowspeeder, X-Wing, and Naboo starfighter.  I also collected LEGO the Lord of the Rings when those sets first came out.  The minifigs are great, and the story remains one of my favorites ever.

My hope is to inspire other young (and perhaps even older) LEGO builders to unleash their inner creativity!  You can find me on my Flikr here

Heath Ledger Joker

"Do you wanna know...how I got these scars?" Yeeees! Heath Ledger's Joker is incredibly unnerving and crazy...which is why he is my favorite cinematic version of the Joker we have yet to see. Ledger's role will be incredibly tough to beat. J.B.F. was commissioned to build this incredibly character version of this Joker, and I must say I'm jealous that this is going to someone else! The eyes and smile on this build are just as unnerving as the real deal. Such a creative and well done model! MWA-MwAhAhAhAhA!

Kryptonite Cyborg

An adversary of the legendary Superman, Metallo is a Kryptonite-powered cyborg.  This build is a menacing representation (almost Terminator-like) of the infamous character, designed by Shawn Snyder.  So many light gray elements are used to perfection in this build, creating sharp looking teeth and machine muscles!  Those complex arms and neck area are my favorite well-designed aspects of this character.  This character has made several on screen appearances, most recently on the CW's Supergirl.  Beware -- his heart is not very warm. . .at least in the way you'd like.

Batman

There's never a shortage of LEGO Batman on Flicr, so it takes some clever building or a hook to stand out. This MOC by gan.marco is a pretty sweet chibi style Batman, on a cool base with the bat's iconic symbol prominently displayed. But what makes this MOC stand out is the super secret miniature Batcave hidden in the base. Turn it around to reveal the teeniest, tiniest, cutest Tumbler you ever did see.

Tonight At SDCC!

You remember those little bits on Sesame Street where they sang "one of these things is not like the other", tonight at SDCC is sort of like that. I'm going to be on a panel with world renown brick artist Nathan Sawaya, DC comic legend Jim Lee and the great Brandon Griffith. And while I'm certainly the odd man out in this grouping, I can guarantee I'm going to be the only one with loads of BrickNerd nerd glasses and buttons in his bag.

The panel is DC Comics Meets LEGO Art, it's tonight from 6-7pm in room 25ABC. I'll see you there!

Art Of The Brick: DC Comics

If you've been wondering why there's been very little content on the YouTube channel and I always have circles under my eyes, I can finally reveal why. World renown brick artist Nathan Sawaya has a new exhibit in the works, and I'm one of the team members on it. I can't say too much yet, but if you join me, Nathan, Brandon Griffith and DC comic legend Jim Lee at our San Diego Comic-Con panel on Thursday, August 9th at 6pm you'll get all the juicy details. Jim Lee will also be live drawing a new Batmobile that's going to be brick-built and part of the exhibit and you might just score some awesome freebies. Hope to see you then!
