Tram 60

Growing up in California, especially on the central coast with frequent trips to Los Angeles, we never saw much public transportation. I'm afraid the car reigns supreme here, and life in Los Angeles is next to impossible without one. This is probably why I'm so enamored with trollies, trains and cool busses, and why I find this tram by Pate-keetongu so irresistible. I also enjoy a good period or vintage build, this one is set at a time three times my age, and that's pretty old.

Suburban Tram

I wasn't exactly sure what I was looking at when I spied Vince Toulouse's latest creation.   Yeah, clearly it's a high-tech tram.  But with a front-loader washing machine on the third level?  Or is it a Minion?  Whatever, it's pretty frakin' cool!  Check out Vince's photostream to see all the nifty details, especially his notations on the various Duplo and Fabuland pieces that when into this build.  Slick!

Amsterdam Tram

I had very limited exposure to trollies growing up, but always liked them. We would occasionally get up to San Francisco when I was a kid, and they had a few there, but they were long gone from Los Angeles before I was even born. These days I can sort of get my fix at Disneyland though, and always appreciate the approach of the Red Car (except when it's full of Newsies, man that show is annoying). But I would have loved to have ridden on this classic tram from Amsterdam. At least we can all appreciate this lovely MOC from builder KMbricklab, she's a beauty.
