I'm going to be sad when this round of Iron Builder is over. I'm still getting over when BrucyWan went up against CMaddison, so many MOCs, just, so many. Today we have an exceptional little mech, with rotors no less, up against an absolutely brilliant build of a watermelon caught in the act of being decimated by a sniper's bullet.
One of my favorite games as a youth was Clue. An exercise in deductive reasoning, and morbid fun. Poor Mr. Body always started out the same, dead. One of the most fun and completely pointless additions to the game were the tiny props. They served no purpose, but we loved to play with them every game. I declare that it was Zack, in the Legoratory with the brick separator!
...And a washing machine for a head. Fighting stains is serious business on this bot's home world, wherever it is. And if you are unfortunate enough to be wearing stained clothing in proximity to it, prepare to have a dark fate brought upon you.
Plants that eat things are disturbing. MOCs of plants that eat things are fabulous. Mark of Falworth is still battling fiercely in the Iron Builder, and this latest MOC proves that the hunger is still there. But is it as great as the hunger of this plant?
This micro building by Luap31 is so clean and well done it could be confused for an official set. Although I have to confess I have no idea if this is a real building or not. I especially like the profile bricks on their side, and the large art piece out in front.
I'm not sure of the details on this MOC, I think it's a collaborative build but there's no description. I am sure it's friggin' awesome though. It's an epic battle with multiple fights involving several super heroes. There's tons going on here so you'll have to click through and check out some of the closeups. My favorite details are the "o" from the hotel smashing the car and the street damage where Superman is having the smack down put on him (I'm sure he'll win in the end)
I love when a builder totally thinks outside the box. When the_jetboy saw Jabba's body the first thing he thought was "those would make great shoes" (the first thing I thought was Jabba eats like I do). Add a Deathstar for a head and a wigwam for a body and you have Mr. Mietek, genius!
Iron Builder rages on, this latest by Siercon and Coral is as amusing as it is impressive. The seed part is all over this MOC, from the needle on the gauges to the hula skirt. The detail of the competition in the back seat though, genius.
The moment I saw these images flooding Facebook yesterday I could practically hear Iain's brick bins getting rummaged, it was inevitable and had to be. I'm not exactly implying Miley did this so that Iain could build it, nor am I saying she wouldn't have done it if Iain wasn't standing by. I'm just saying she did it, and he did it, and it was just meant to be.
I just can't resist this MOC, it's powerful (see what I did there?) Seriously though, I'm drawn to it like all really well done props and real-world items. That's two MOCs posted by newcomer LoctiteGirl and two blogged, I think we can expect great things from this builder.
This is a striking image, the color palette, the background, the warm lighting, not to mention the build itself. It's all very well done. I like the whimsy of dinosaurs pulling a troll machine of war too, it's fun and terrifying at the same time. Nice work burlogh.
Things have been a bit quiet on the Iron Builder front, and now I know why. This extremely elaborate and realistic cuckoo clock proved to be a challenge for the brothers Falworth. But it was all worth the effort, because this is thing of beauty.
Taz-Maniac is back and this MOC is pure fun. It's also studriffic, and I kinda like it. Normally the trend is to minimize studs these days, but not here, and it lends a texture that just adds to the charm of this piece. Those sheep crack me up too.
I could spout some nonsense about this "representing a woman's struggle to define herself in the midst of a generic world", but I truly hate when artists get all esoteric like that. How about "it's a silhouette, but instead of just black on white, it's represented by negative space. But the black is still there, as a reflection of sorts". I'd buy that (I'd blog it too).
Sorry, my eighties is showing. This is a Federation Beta Series Mechanoid. Could this be a tantalizing peek into Pete Reid's upcoming book? If I know Pete, this is hardly a blip on the Federation radar.
We need a unit of measure for MOCs like this. Something like BTPI (brilliant techniques per inch) or EPPS (excellent part use per stud). Take a look at everything that's going on here. The lab equipment, the candelabra, the statue, it's all fabulous!

Halo is one of those games I totally respect, yet have never played (yeah, bad nerd). Both my boys have an Xbox but I've never really warmed up to it. But this Master Chief gives me the warm and fuzzies. Excellent pose and accessories too. Nice work Ewok in Disguise.
I'm very fond of vintage VW. As I've stated before my first car was a Beetle (well, technically it was a lifted Chevy Luv, but that was short-lived). But my third car was a VW Type 2 Transporter (AKA bus). But it was nothing near as cool as this...actually, it was a bit of a piece of crap, but I liked it. I like this too. Nice work as always Lino.
