VW Dragbus

I'm very fond of vintage VW. As I've stated before my first car was a Beetle (well, technically it was a lifted Chevy Luv, but that was short-lived). But my third car was a VW Type 2 Transporter (AKA bus). But it was nothing near as cool as this...actually, it was a bit of a piece of crap, but I liked it. I like this too. Nice work as always Lino.

Art Imitating Life Imitating Art

It's one of those things that pops up on Facebook, or is heard over the cubicle, "hey, did you see the one of the cat dressed as a shark riding a Roomba chasing a baby chicken?" It's one of those things that makes you go "what? What did I just hear? What the Frack?" And of course it's one of those things that inevitably comes from Iain Heath. Well, played sir, well played.

SSL You Have A Clear To Launch...

I love Disneyland. In fact, I might even be there tomorrow. I only ride Space Mountain on special occasions though. It usually has a longer line than I'm willing to stand in, and it has a tendency to beat the crap out of me. I'm digging this MOC though, it captures it perfectly.

Lush Little Hobbiton

When I think Hobbiton and Bag End, I think lush and green. And while the official set was green, it lacked a feeling of lushness. This little diorama by Jan Rose hits the mark. This is what lush looks like. I am missing the large round door from the official set, but I think overall this "feels" better. Nicely done Jan.

U-740

This is a pretty sleek and unusual looking ship. It's a great combination of simple lines and visually complex structures. I particularly like the stacked dishes, like a combination of air cooled cylinders and steampunkish electrical insulators. It also sorta reminds me of a Wheel-O (now I'm dating myself).

"I'm Sorry Dave..."

Legohaulic is a master of iconic moments, and this commissioned piece from Stanley Kubrick's classic 2001: A Space Odyssey is no exception. "HAL, open the pod bay doors..." (just for giggles, if you have an iPhone, ask Siri to do that). 

Bobble Fett?

These are just too adorable not to blog. I have no idea of the nature of these (custom printed? waterslide? weapons glued on?) but from a guy named minifigmaker I assume they are totally custom. What I do know is they are irresistible. I want some!

Kicks Vs Shoe Spiders

I don't know how they do it. I can't fathom how so many great MOCs can be built so quickly. It takes me ages to build anything, and these four people have cranked out oodles of mind-blowing creations in just days. Iron Builders indeed. 

Scribble Scribble

What can I say, I have a weakness for real world props and MOCs of the mundane. This eraser and mechanical pen from Moko makes me happier than it probably should.

Space Cargo Ship

It's not very often we see a minifigure scale cargo ship (why is that?) but here's a fine example from SweStar . There's loads of detail here, and the base/landing pad is really nice too. I dig that little service robot.

Landrover

This excellent vehicle comes to us from Myungpyo Kim and she's a beauty. The Landrover is the quintessential off-road vehicle and this MOC captures it perfectly. This thing seriously looks like it could handle any terrain.

Iridescent Flight

Siercon and Coral are back with another entry for Iron Builder. This artwork of a parrot in flight is absolutely stunning. And if that wasn't enough, the signature and all the brick-built art supplies will blow your mind. This Iron Builder is intense! 

Mmmmm, Bento Box

Hungry? How about some Japanese? Take a look at all this stuff, take a close look. It's all LEGO. Yes, even the glass and the napkin are LEGO! This isn't the greatest photo, but it's a brilliant build. Nice work Garth.

The Isle Of Illumina

This micro castle caught my eye. I love the contrast of the white castle against the gray rock work. That's a pretty nifty couple of dragons or whatever they are as well. It's like a jabberwocky and a pterodactyl, though I'm not certain those two existed at the same time. It's like brontosaurus and Fred Flintstone, only partially based on fact ;-)

Meeting Of Heroes

I have to confess this MOC makes reminisce (not in a good way) about endless meetings and conference calls in my VFX days. But I'll get over it because it's pretty awesome. Take a look at that floor, and the frogs as legs for the globe, and the furniture, and the windows. Everywhere you look in this relatively small MOC there's something cool, it's a feast for the eyes. Nice work Masa of Kaliphlin.

There are few epic climax struggles more memorable that Ripley vs the queen alien in Aliens. And now we can admire it in CubeDude form thanks to Lego-Man-at-arms. The super deformed power loader cracks me up.
