Saddle Up Apone...
/I just watched this movie the other night. Still holds up beautifully 27 years later. This MOC depicts the scene where they discover the location of the colonists. This brilliantly detailed and lit interior comes from Missing Brick, who has a whole series excellent scenes from Aliens. Custom minifigs by Matthias.
Thanks for the head's up Pete
The Black Pearl
/BricksOnWheels is a builder after my own heart. Not only am I a big Pirates of the Caribbean fan (the ride and the movies...well, some of the movies) but I actually spent nearly a year of my life in London working on POTC4. This pirate themed Scania truck is just beautiful, and I recognized this lovely pirate as soon as I saw her.
Sandyman's Mill
/It's been a bit of a LOTR week for me, I even watched Fellowship of the Ring (well, the first half of the extended edition) yesterday. So the lovely village of Hobbiton is fresh in my mind. And this MOC by TheBrickAvenger would fit in perfectly. I really like the stonework on this, and that roof is perfect.
The Abyss
/This cool little mech by Toto Hermanto looks like it would be right at home in the deepest undersea trench, and in the darkest corners of space. Give this thing a trans yellow canopy and it would be pretty neo classic space.
Super Yetee Bros.
/Chris McVeigh created this MOC for THEYETEE, an awesome online t-shirt company. They're opening a gallery this weekend in Aurora Illinois and invited artists to create Yeti and bigfoot inspired art. If you're in the area drop by and if not, check out their site, they have crazy, nerdy, geeky cool tees.
The Tower
/Oh my. I was all set to go out and set up to shoot episode 106, but I thought "one last peek at Flickr". That's when I saw this. I implore you dear readers to stop what you're doing and click through. Then look at the larger versions of this and all the pictures. This is an absolute visual treat, from bottom to top. Outstanding work Kris_Kelvin.
The Comedian
/Pate-Keetongu brings us an excellent rendition of the way cool, but ill-fated Comedian from The Watchmen. It appears to be fairly posable, always a challenge with characters. I like the doors as shoulder pads too, clever. The head is the real star of this MOC though, it's excellent.
Leopard Linger
/Here at BrickNerd we look back from time to time. This MOC by Bram Lambrecht was at my first LEGO convention, BrickCon 2009, and it blew my mind. This, as well as a number of other incredible creations opened my eyes to the artistic and sculptural potential of my favorite bricks.
Mecha Link
/Oh yeah, a Gundam style mech of Legend of Zelda's Link! Julius Von Brunk has fused japanese style mecha and nintendo's classic character, and the result is greater than the sum of it's parts. Ganondorf's about to get his butt KICKED.
Come On!
/Oresteia
/Master of the small ship Phall Macaroni calls this a NB-02 courier class, I call it sweet. Great use of colors, angles, details and design. Not only is the ship excellent, check out that stand. It implies some kind of robotic functionality, very cool.
Yo Ho Ho And A Bottle Of Rum
/This is a absolutely beautiful MOC depicting the Hispaniola as she prepares prepares to make sail to Treasure Island. The attention to detail is superb, as is the build quality. I especially love the diversity of all the buildings, each has it's own personality. The brick-built sails are also very charming. Click through for lots of other pictures. Nicely done Matthew Hurt.
Helium-3 Harvester
/This crazy cool concept from Robiwan Kenobi is for harvesting helium-3 from the surface of the moon. There's so much clever building and parts use that you can stare at this thing for ages. Then you can wrap your head around the fact that this is based on feasible science. Way cool.
Firethorn Mech...With Working Flame Thrower!
/Disclaimer: Do not attempt this, you or your bricks could get seriously burned, seriously.
Prepare to have your mind blown LEGO fans. Siercon and Coral have unleashed a slew of MOCs in the last day. But this one, holy cow, a mech with a working flame thrower! Watch the video to see it in action. And check out their photostream for all the amazing last minute MOCs for Iron Builder. These two are machines!
