Schfio has put out quite spread this morning. And what better way to start your day than with a delicious breakfast including cereal, toast, cheese and eggs. I love how the butter has the corner taken off, brilliant. Alright, now I'm hungry.
Our pals over at FBTB are running a cool contest, with cool prizes. Now, before you start slamming together your Q-Wing, there's some rules. You first have to submit a minifigure that will serve as your pilot, and then you'll be assigned a letter for your ship and your pilot must fit inside. Head over to FBTB for complete rules and good luck!
This is epic. Xenomurphy has built an amazing version of everyone's favorite (and easiest to escape) prison for the criminally insane, Arkham Asylum. And as if this MOC wasn't amazing on it's own, there's an entire 82 page book of the making of it in his photostream, and it's free. Go there, now.
Wow, this is one of the crazy-coolest sci-fi vehicles I've seen in a while. So many unconventional and innovative techniques. The wheels are planet hemispheres, but that in-wheel suspension is wild!
With CCCXI going on there's castles everywhere. Here's a fine example from Mark of Falworth. This is how to make the most of limited space on a rocky outcrop, and of course to thwart attack.
I'm not a terribly big fan of the prequels, but there are a few nuggets in them I do really like and these are one of them. I thought the concept of releasing dozens of destructive little robots on your enemy was pretty clever, and so is this build. Nice work Jason.
During my time in England I assumed I would see more castles, as it was I only really saw two, and only one up close. Neither of them were as cool as this one from lego_fan. OK, Tower Of London was pretty cool, but I wouldn't want to live there. But this one...you see that little balcony? That's my room.
Yes the Monster Fighters Haunted House is nice, I even gave it five out of five Nerdlys in my latest episode. But WOW. Not only is this haunted house by markus19840420 spectacular, it's got some fun Star Wars details in it. How could I resist? Click through for loads of other pictures.
This latest Brick Sketch from Chris McVeigh couldn't be more perfectly timed or perfectly built. Happy Halloween everyone!
This is a fairly simple MOC, but it has an irresistible charm. The color combinations, posing and robotic ambiguity of the dino are quite cool. I could see this being an actual set.
The Grandpappy based this robot on an illustration in the book "50 robots to draw & paint" and it's excellent. I love the asymmetry and jauntiness of this MOC, it's loaded with character and attitude.
Happy Halloween! This episode features an interview with Guy Himber at Crazy Bricks about his Skulls Kickstarter project and a review of the Monster Fighters Haunted House.
All Hallows Eve...Candy corn, caramel apples, pumpkin pie, candy (can you tell I've been dieting?) Yay Halloween! This MOC by Moko is adorable. Did I mention pumpkin pie? Mmmm, pumpkin pie.
There's another round of Iron Builder started, Brickthing VS Onosendai2600 , and there will be blood. Here's just a sample of what we'll be seeing in the next month or so, it's gonna be great.
Lego Junkie has created an anime MOC worthy of the week of Halloween. Meet Saeko Busujima, just your typical sword wielding high school zombie fighting girl.
This is absolutely, positively gorgeous. There are so many amazingly beautiful details on this I don't know where to begin. I mean look at that front end! The grill, the lines, the integrated helmet, it's phenomenal. The overall color scheme and proportions are brilliant as well. I just want to go for a ride in this thing. Vince_Toulouse, you're a master.
This is a nice little bit of photo editing. The composition and aspect ratio is excellent, feels very cinematic. I'd love to see this same shot setup with the background image displayed on a TV or monitor, so that the reflections and lighting would carry through to the MOC. A smaller aperture would increase the depth of field too. Nice work Tobigo.
Legonardo Davidy is back with another awe inspiring castle build. This rickety cottage defies LEGO logic with the tapered sides, asymmetry and sagging roof. It's absolutely brilliant.
This is a particularly badass and imposing looking MOC from Gamma-Raay . The pose and photography is also impressive. I especially like the proportions and weight of the legs. And you gotta love all that gunmetal gray.
