C'mon Summer!
/I was literally looking at Unikitty's tail yesterday wondering what it might be used for, but waves didn't occur to me. This MOC by Melan-E is lovely, simple, small and adorable. And I have to agree, after this brutal and extra long winter all of the North American continent is ready for a little summer.
The 2nd Battle Of Devil's Pass
/This battle scene by Mark of Falworth is an awesome MOC. I think people fall into a bit of a trap with large builds by making them too symmetrical, and therefore somewhat uninteresting. But look at the shape of this one, by making one cliff side longer than the other, and making the edges undulate, it has interest and dynamics in just the terrain alone. Throw in a few dozen soldiers about to get busy and you have all the makings of epic.
Micro GARC
/For the uninitiated, GARC (Galactic Asteroid Rally Circuit) is a thing, and that thing has now been miniaturized. GARC evangelists Andrew Lee and Simon Liu are inviting all to build a small, sweet and swift mini GARC and join them in community builds at Brickworld and BrickCon this year. Time to get your GARC on!
The Three Finger Salute
/I made the switch to Mac a little over two years ago, and I haven't regretted it for a minute. I certainly got used to using these three keys in my many years prior to making the switch. I think imagining them as a troubleshooting strike force like these awesome builds by 74louloute might have made my blood boil a little less rapidly...yeah, probably not.
Pigskin FTW
/My cousin lives in San Francisco and has season tickets to the Niners. But I'm a Raiders fan so I beat him up a lot. This is a cool LEGO football though.

Americov Insurance Corp.
926 Clifton Heights
Dear Spencer,
I am writing to follow up on our conversation yesterday about my insurance claim for the property at 349 Broadway. City services has finally succeeded in shutting off all services and cleanup is continuing. Everyone is accounted for and I'm happy to let you know Mrs Thumperpants' cat Piranha has been found safe and sound.
I am however very concerned by your apparent disbelief in my descriptions of the events of the 27th of March. I can assure you everything that was described occurred exactly as it happened. I have enclosed a photo if you are still feeling skeptical.
Sincerely,
Thomas Schlepmot
Superintendant
Ralston Rhino
/LUGNuts gearhead LinoM is back with another jaw-dropper. Behold the Ralston Rhino. The fictional Ralston family approached the fine builders of LUGNuts to create the next thing in highway hauling and Lino has delivered. I can just imagine the driver climbing through the suicide doors into the crazy forward leaning cab, initializing the anti-grav capabilities and firing up the turbine...then hauling 22.6 tons of Vienna sausages or something to Toledo.
Belynia Extended
/Some of our loyal readers will instantly recognize this castle from a previous post we did on Belynia Castle. Well Belynia is no longer just a castle but has been expanded out to an entire village. Simon really took this village in a direction that I was not expecting and that is more than OK and I am really floored with the way it turned out. When taking a closer look at the village make sure to check out all the additional details he added including the docks and the water technique on the shore line.
Sultan's Gate
/Tan castles are somewhat rare, and exceptional tan castles like this fine example by Gideon_83 are quite scarce. The wall work in this is well done, adding texture and variety while not getting busy. The dark tan adds a bit of contrast and interest, but compliments the color. And the use of the planet as a dome is inspired.
LiveBuild Today!
/Join me live from BrickNerd Studios for another LiveBuild. Fresh from Denmark it's set 4000010, LEGO House. It's an exclusive to celebrate the ground breaking of LEGO House in Billund. I'll start a Google+ Hangout at 3:00PM PST and the build will start 3:30PM. Visit our Facebook page for updates and links.
Hellboy
/Yes it was just last week when I posted another version of Hellboy, but what can I say, he's cool! This medium sized bust by HP Mohnroth packs all the character into a small package and does it perfectly. I especially like the use of the new ball and socket joint for the neck, allows for excellent pose-ability.
Cool Critters
/There have pretty much always been cats at my house, from "Tiki" the siamese mix I had as a kid to "Crash" and "Ashley" they cats I have now. None of them have been particularly cool, at least not as cool as these critters by Arzlan. I suppose Crash is sorta cool, when he's not barfing or suffocating us in our sleep, but Ashley is essentially a furry speed bump, useless. She's like a butterball turkey wearing a fur jacket. I've never had a rabbit, but judging by this pic it's the ringleader. Like that friend you had as a kid with all the best bad ideas.
Miss Izzy Orchard
/Can LEGO be sexy? I say this is evidence in favor of that. Meet Miss Izzy Orchard, a steampunk creation by Pate-keetongu. I can honestly say that no matter how many times I've looked at the minifigure ruff, I've never thought "garter".
Buy War Bonds
/The Cap doesn't mess around when it comes to supporting our troops, and JaredChan doesn't mess around when it comes to outstanding building. There's so much to love in this diorama, the bunting, the eagle, the dancing girls and of course Red Skull's sweet ride. But for the me the stand out is the stars and stripes shield, awesome.
Burstin'
/This is one of my favorites from the insanely talented Arvo brothers. If you haven't seen any of the Alien films, I'm afraid I've got a spoiler for you, these suckers like to develop inside your chest and when the time is right, they just sorta burst out.
The Death Mobile
/As you know I rarely feature digital models. Not that I have anything against virtual building, I use LLD and Brickforge all the time. But I only use them as a design tool, building always follows. That being said I cannot resist this MOC of one of the greatest vehicles ever, the Death Mobile from the classic Animal House. And it really wouldn't have been complete without Bluto, nicely done mmbace.
Fluttershy And Discord
/My good friend and Bricks Of Character cohort Iain Heath is back with another stellar MOC. From everyone's favorite anthropomorphized equestrian digitally rendered animated entertainment series My Little Pony comes Fluttershy and Discord. You can see these in person at Emerald City Comic-Con this weekend along with everyone's favorite British accented caffeine powered bipedal creative plastic brick arranger, Iain.
