I saw this amazing MOC in person at BrickCon, and again recently on Tested. I'm happy it's finally been photographed properly so can share it all with you. Behold Cthulhu, by the great Carlmerriam . This is serious out-of-the-box and next level building, love it.
I've always been a great admirer of the US space program. My first memory is sitting on my dad's lap, watching a NASA mission unfold on TV. We always wanted to go watch a shuttle launch together, but sadly he passed away before we ever got the chance. He was also very patriotic, and I see his smile in every US flag I look at. Thanks Legohaulic, I love this MOC and I know my dad would have too.
I don't know why, but I found myself reminiscing about classic Battlestar Galactica this morning. Yes, it was pretty bad, but it was a heck of a lot better than Buck Rogers (except perhaps for Colonel Deering, rawr) and I always thought Daggit was cool. I never watched the new series, but I like the ships. This Viper by onesendai2600 is one of my favorites.
Last week while driving in LA I spotted a guy stuck on Lincoln Blvd actually using a hookah in his car, today I see one brick-built, coincidence? Well, hardly, but this is a cool MOC by Disco86 anyway.

BrickNerd would like to send a big congratulations to LEGO's own Jan Beyer and his wife on the birth of their baby boy. Woot!
This beautiful bird sculpture comes to us from qi_tah. With the exception of perhaps fish, birds are the most colorful creatures on the planet, and this MOC captures that perfectly.
I love how insanely creative AFOLs can be. Check out this version of the classic game "Guess Who?" Gilcélio has created a version using sig figs of his friends, and it's completely playable. Check out the video!
Legoloverman is a master of the pocket-sized robot, just look at these little beauties. Each one of them has a specific job to do, and is customized to do it. Yet, they all look like brothers. Functionality fused with aesthetics, perfect.

Digger1221 offers up this lovely throne room, with some delicious details. The brick walls, border work and the throne are great, but my favorite parts are the floor pattern and the candle stands, excellent.
At Minecon last weekend LEGO displayed a very cool forced perspective mosaic. Here's a video of it's creation.
This is a awesome mashup, Lord of the Rings meets Space meets Vic Viper. It's Novvember so VVs are showing up all over the place. But this one is so damn clever. I totally want to see more of these, c'mon everybody, licensed VV FTW!
This is a massive and incredible collaborative build by SlyOwl, Kǻrrde, peggyjdb, workshysteve, Invicta Bricks, Malravion, Cuahchic and Derfel Cadarn. It was recently featured at the Great Western LEGO Show at STEAM in Swindon UK. The attention detail and work that went into this is stunning. And with eight different builders, there's tons of pictures to look at. Click through and enjoy!
Ah, the good old climbing the wall gag, classic campy Batman. It's amazing what you can accomplish with simple camera tricks like turning it on it's side. And this is exactly how this cheesy effect was accomplished. Nice photography InkBlotPhoto.
This is a fun little vignette by Praiter Yed depicting a captured hero suspended from the top of an ice cave by a large white creature. His trusty rapier just out of reach. It all seems so familiar...
LEGO has announced a fascinating project, LEGO Minecraft Cobuild. They're jumping in the Minecraft world with both feet and are inviting you to help. Watch the video and visit the Facebook page for more info.
Schfio has put out quite spread this morning. And what better way to start your day than with a delicious breakfast including cereal, toast, cheese and eggs. I love how the butter has the corner taken off, brilliant. Alright, now I'm hungry.
Our pals over at FBTB are running a cool contest, with cool prizes. Now, before you start slamming together your Q-Wing, there's some rules. You first have to submit a minifigure that will serve as your pilot, and then you'll be assigned a letter for your ship and your pilot must fit inside. Head over to FBTB for complete rules and good luck!
This is epic. Xenomurphy has built an amazing version of everyone's favorite (and easiest to escape) prison for the criminally insane, Arkham Asylum. And as if this MOC wasn't amazing on it's own, there's an entire 82 page book of the making of it in his photostream, and it's free. Go there, now.
Wow, this is one of the crazy-coolest sci-fi vehicles I've seen in a while. So many unconventional and innovative techniques. The wheels are planet hemispheres, but that in-wheel suspension is wild!
Old LEGO magic still has its charms. We revisit Borgin and Burkes and Dumbledore’s office to compare how their buildings, curious objects, and magical creatures have changed across generations of Harry Potter sets.
