Mushu
/Happy Easter!
/It's Easter morning. I noticed the bunny was here and I spotted some LEGO in my basket. Soon the house will smell like spiral cut ham and I'll be gorging on chocolate and playing with bricks, does it get any better? I didn't notice if there were any Peeps in my basket, but I think I like these from Siercon and Coral better anyway. Happy Easter everyone!
Starfury
/When people look back on Babylon 5 they usually seem to be nostalgic or somewhat resentful. Most agree it was cut down in it's prime. I just know it as that show all my friends were working on. The ship design and visual effects were certainly prominent features of the show, and this version on the Starfury by Rogue Bantha is faithful and awesome.
Blacktron Mansion
/For Rent:
Luxurious loft apartment with adjacent landing pad. This amazing glass enclosed loft overlooks the wondrous black tar sea of Karkonia. The attached landing platform will accommodate most personal craft (plasma induction lift thrusters not recommended) and is situated low to preserve the view. Easy access to the lower level state-of-the-art kitchen and pilot ready room. Soak away the stresses of intergalactic travel with the indulgent Jacuzzi located on the second floor. Available mid-May, serious inquiries only.
Crimson Loftwing
/You all know what a big Nintendo and Zelda fan I am, so to discover this awesome MOC in my Flickr feed this morning resulted in much grinniness. Builder Siercon and Coral are presently engaged in a battle royale with Legohaulic and Littlehaulic in another Iron Builder. The seed part is the 1x2 curved slope you see so perfectly used on the wingtips. Now I want to play a little Skyward Sword.
Rafiki
/Micro Classic Space
/Having spent so much time lately with this classic LEGO icon, this micro version of the Galaxy Explorer by Legonardo Davidy caught my eye instantly. It's got the contouring to make it reminiscent of good old 497, but enough panache to make it neo classic space. And it was built in one night, impressive!
Hynphorka
/I am not entirely sure what a Hynphorka is to be honest, I'm having a hard time typing the name of this MOC out correctly, much less even pronouncing it right. Hynph-whatcha-ma-call-it aside, this is stellar ship, dripping with all kinds of crazy cool. Ricardo Soa has made great use of Bionicle and traditional LEGO bricks and successfully weaved them together to make this bad boy stick out. I'm hoping the alien that pilots this bad boy is friendly to us humans. Though, looking at the the missiles and laser cannons on this thing I imagine not. I could just see this thing strafing a remote human colony reaping souls along the way.
Nerdception
/The video pretty much speaks for itself, give it a view
Firebird
/GARC is starting to gain popularity after a bit of a non-start initially, and I think the space genre needed a shot in the speed arm. This ship by Sylon-tw has got some impressive details. I especially like the exposed engine greens on the underside, and the subtle white racing stripe. I think it could use some more sponsors though, must be a rookie pilot.
Life-size Hatsune Miku
/Chinese builder CHAOSBRICK has built pretty much the ultimate anime girl, a life-sized Hatsune Miku. I'm afraid I can't read Chinese, and Google translate's version of this page is as amusing as it is confusing, so I can't provide many more details. But click through for some cool work-in-progress pics.
This MOC Is Just Right
/Not too big, not too small, It's just right. SlyOwl's Goldilocks and the Three Bears is sculptural perfection. There's a lot of very clever building here, check out Papa Bear's shoes for instance, you'd swear they were just regular old shoes, brilliant.
Purity
/This impossibly rich environment is from Raoulosos. There's no info posted with the pics and I don't know if this is from a movie, a video game or an incredible imagination, but it's stunning. The rock work alone is impressive, but the color palette, the details and the part use is just awesome. Plus there's lighting effects, fantastic flora and fauna and a technological overlay that just makes your jaw drop. Click through for more and larger pics, it's totally worth it.
Bandages Delivered By Snail
/This MOC is overflowing with whimsy. It depicts Teeny Weeny and his racing snail on a mission of mercy, delivering bandages to the plague victims of Avalonia. I have no idea what that means, but it's a wonderful little MOC. Builder Robuko has issued a challenge too: post a MOC of Kaliphlinites providing Avalonians with bandages by May 1st. Yeah, I don't know what that means either.
Totally Tubular!
/EXT BEACH - DAY
Simon Surfwax, a young brash surfer type approaches an older man holding an inner tube, ready for some fun in the water. Simon can't help but notice what the man is wearing, a very old fashioned bathing suit. He plants his board in the sand and snickers.
Simon
Whoa dude, totally radical knickers you got there
Older Man
These aren't knick...oh, my bathing attire.
I was assured this was the proper dress.
Simon
You gotta be a total babe magnet in those threads, eh bro?
The older man is taken aback and confused, he studies himself and looks carefully at his inner tube. For the first time we notice there is something slightly odd about what's visible through the hole in the middle, a strange distortion, almost like shimmering heat off a hot paved road. The old man looks back at Simon.
Older Man
What does magnetism have to do with this?
Simon has had his fun, he smiles sarcastically and grabs his board. With a dismissive wave he trots off down to the water. The older man stands puzzled for a moment, then sighs.
Older Man
Clearly more calibration is needed.
With that he bends down and begins to crawl through the hole in his TIME PORTAL as he does, space/time bends around him. And with a flash and a pop, he disappears.
Otto
/If you have the bricks and have a wish
You may need to build yourself a fish
And in a bowl you can place your fish
Because fish don't live on a dish
But you won't need water in the bowl
So exercise self-control
And if fish are not your pet of choice
You have other options, so rejoice
Because bricks can be any shape you like
Like a fluffy cat or a dog named Spike
So build your wish, that's my motto
Like Daiman's version here of Otto
Gyrocopter
/It's been a while since we've had a good dose of steampunk here on BrickNerd. Luckily this excellent little gyrocopter by Dwalin Forkbeard came along. I've seen the ewok hang glider wings used before but they are particularly effective on this MOC, and the mechanical doohickyness of this bird is brilliant.
View-Master® Master
/One of my jobs before I fled hollywood was stereographer, or "the guy in charge of the 3D". If you're one of the six people who saw Hansel & Gretel in 3D and didn't get a headache, you're welcome. I've been a stereo enthusiast all my life, and I'm certain it's because of one of these devices, or at least the real thing that inspired Bruce Lowell to build this marvelous MOC. I remember staring in wonder at my Disneyland reels as a kid and marveling at the technology.
