Iron Builder continues to rage on, and Legohaulic is not letting up. His latest offering is right off the shelves of Home Depot, a Haulic chainsaw! As if the styling, color selection, awesome construction and beautiful photography weren't enough, it's mechanized. And if even that wasn't enough, he shot a commercial for it.
In part one I only finished about 2/3 of Metalbeard's Sea Cow (hey, it's a big model!) so today I'm going to finish her. Join me live at 9am PST, it will be way better than that meeting you were supposed to be in.

Pate Keetongu is back with another dwarf to add to his Hobbit collection. This time around it's Kili, brother of Fili and nephew to Thorin Oakenshield. As with all the previously built MOCs, this one is loaded with detail and faithful to the movie.
I love pizza (who doesn't?) and I think if I lived near this little parlor I'd be there all the time. With it's charming awnings and retro giant food sign, it's just inviting. Steebles is becoming one of my favorite builders. Not just for the skill and cleverness of his design and execution, but because of the subject matter. His MOCs do more than catch the eye, they stir up emotion...and hunger.
My first computer (well, technically it was my wife's) was a 386 Packard Bell. It had a whopping 20MB (that's mega, with an m) hard drive that were knew we would NEVER fill. This latest from Chris McVeigh reminds me a lot of it, and it's pretty much perfect. Although this one is even older, with the old green display. I especially like the add on 5-1/4 disk drives, man were they clunky. And while our computer was really an expensive hunk of junk, we certainly enjoyed playing Space Quest on it.
Your eyes, don't trust them. Iain Heath was so inspired by the graphics of the game Monument Valley that he decided to give them a go in bricks. And the results are visually captivating. There is a bit of photoshop trickery involved here, so don't rack your brain too much trying to figure it out. Click through for a behind the scenes pic.
If you saw the latest episode of BrickNerd (you did didn't you?) then you got to see me open a one of Adam Monostori's awesome custom Minifigures based on Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Iain Heath was so taken with Sir Not Appearing In This Film he created a MaxiFig scale version of him. The detail and accuracy is uncanny. By the way, these are a project on LEGO Ideas which needs your support. Head over and bump this thing, we all NEED these.
This is a perfect example of how MOCs don't need to be complex or large to be awesome. Sometimes a simple model, well designed and properly photographed, can totally grab your attention too. This hot rod by builder byKNAP is just that, clean lines, nice part use and photographed well. It's even on a pull-back chassis so it has play value, nicely done.
It's always been my assumption that the original designers of cars have to be continually shocked and amused at what customizers do to what they almost certainly thought was a vehicle that was just perfect. But that doesn't stop the customizers, and it doesn't stop radical car builder Lino M either, as is illustrated here in this absurd, but wonderful MOC.
It's a day late for Star Wars day, but I still wanted to share this excellent modification of the UCS Millennium Falcon, as well as this awesome Senate Bay diorama by Gerechtigkeitsliga. The ship looks amazing in it's Stellar Envoy paint scheme, and the diorama is jaw dropping with scale lighting and tons of detail. Click through for more pics, it's worth it.
90's video game platformers were ruled exclusively by a chubby plumber and a blue anthropomorphic hedgehog until an earthworm named Jim, uh, wormed his way into our hearts. Earthworm Jim left a huge impact on the video games industry with bizarre art style and quirky, slightly off-color story.
Daiman has done good job of imagining our slimy invertebrate hero into LEGO brick. I especially like Jim himself and his trusty, over-sized red blaster.
Ultimately the popularity of Jim and his super spacesuit just couldn't keep up with Mario and Sonic, leaving Jim just a fond memory in the hearts of millennials everywhere.
It is hard to convey the effect Star Wars had on me. The movie came out when I was nine, the perfect age to warp me for life. It is in my blood. As we celebrate one of my favorite unofficial holidays, I love all the Star Wars MOCs that show up in my Flickr feed. But this one by Legohaulic just blew me away. I have never seen any brick-built logo so perfect before, it's amazing. Not only that, but it's using a load of the seed part from his current battle in Iron Builder. WANT!
The cast of Star Wars has never looked better in my opinion, thanks to customBRICKS.

I wasn't much into comics as a kid, but if I had a favorite it was probably Spiderman. His internal struggles always captivated me, and his snarkiness appealed to my shared somewhat disrespect for authority figures. This latest Brick Sketch by Chris McVeigh has to be one of the most complicated yet. That string work in phenomenal.
