No, this is not going to be yet another post about some amazing game related MOC where I confess I haven't played the game. In fact, I'm not even going to go Google to get more info to even attempt to sound informed. Because none of that matters, just look at this spiffy MOC by KOS! I never get tired of Neo Classic Space, especially kick-arse ships like this one by Alec Hole. It's got tons of pointy antenna bits all over the place, plus multi-tiered SNOT wings. Very cool. I like how's Alec integrated the engines into the aft section in contrast to the mongo nacelles in the middle. Why not, right? Just wish there were more pictures! Hint hint...
With every passing week I get just a little more excited for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. It's frankly a bit concerning because if I extrapolate forward on the current trend it's quite likely I'll be running in small circles wearing nothing but a stormtrooper helmet and belt screaming at the top of my lungs with a lightsaber in my hands and the soundtrack blaring in the background. Now that I've painted that picture, enjoy this lovely MOC of BB-8 by Legomichiiiiii and a pretty nifty Skywalker lightsaber by LEGO Will.
Nothing says Summer like a classic American sports car or a camper in tow. Our old pal Firas Abu-Jaber is kicking off the season with both, and a surfboard to boot. Brilliantly detailed, the camper's got everything a smores-cooking, flip-flop wearing adventurer could want. Except a V-8 engine. So that's why you've got to have the Vette. Based on the second generation of the iconic muscle car, Firas' version has it all, including the retracting headlight covers. Time to crank up the Beach Boys. Or Jimmy Buffet .
Feast your eyes on this extravaganza of rich detail by builder Cesbrick, but be prepared to spend some time with it. This classic kid's room interior is absolutely packed with nostalgia, clever building and irresistible charm. The use of color is also impressive here, helping distinguish all the visual layers and keeping it from turning into total chaos. It's simultaneously visually complicated and simple to look at, and that's not easy to do.
Batman is sort of "ever present" in my life recently, with the success of my short film Batman vs Superman, the sequel in the works and other projects in active production, he's sort of on my mind all the time. So this MOC by Grantmasters speaks to me in a way that would probably concern my therapist, if I had one.
Let's face it, Vader has style. Sure he's a bit asthmatic, and perhaps a poor judge on where you should take on your rival in a lightsaber duel, but he's got style. Check out his ride for instance, expertly crafted by Lino M. This isn't a simple passenger van with a huge sticker on the side (yeah, that's what we called Star Wars vehicles back when I was a kid, it was disappointing then too) no, it's a sleek car with body styling reminiscent of his famous helmet, and an aggressive stance that says he means business.
The excellent Tim Courtney from LEGO Ideas has just unveiled the next set. There were many to choose from, but only one could be chosen (at least for now). Check out the video for the news!
I don't know why it is, but in my experience the most important, the most popular and the most frequented part of the home is the kitchen. It's where we prepare meals, have a snack and spend time with friends and family. It's also where we do crafts, spend late nights on last minute science projects, and maybe enjoy some tea and biscuits while you blog about amazing LEGO creations like this stunning little kitchen from jsnyder002 (which as far as I know, was built in a kitchen)
The Flash has been on my mind a lot lately, for reasons I can't divulge just yet, so the timing on this latest Brick Sketch by Powerpig is pretty perfect. But what is more perfect is a little detail you just might miss from the front angle, Flash's iconic lightning bolts, awesome.
The appropriately named King of Random has an awesome new video with instructions on making these yummy LEGO gummy candies. And it's not just a standard "mix these together and pour in mold" kinda video, there's tons of cool info on taking these to the next level...in fact, you can build with them!
If you asked me what my dream garage would be filled with - Vespa scooters just might be the absolute last thing on my list. I would prefer mine to be filled with various iterations of twin-turbocharged 80's sports cars that dominated my bedroom wall when I was young. Yet, after seeing this masterful build by Andrea Lattazino, I'm not so sure anymore. The attention to detail in this MOC is stunning. Feast your eyes upon this, young builders, for within this build lies phenomenal technique, parts use, and color palette. Hats off to you, Andrea, for making me love Vespas.
Every day should start with a good breakfast, in this case for me it's starting with a phenomenal breakfast...MOC! This is one of those rare occasions (which I LOVE by the way) where I find myself looking at a pic and going "oh wait, that's LEGO too, holy crap...that's all LEGO". The level of detail, clever construction and perfect photography of this MOC by LegoJalex is simply impeccable.
David Collins has gone all out with this massive project. He started with minifig scale mechs, then a hangar big enough for three of them. The next step was to build a ship big enough for the hangar. So he ended up with this six foot monster SHIP! "I've seen a lot of ships built over the years with hanger bays in them but it looked to me like frequently the hangar bay was an after thought and what goes in the hanger even more so." Even without the hangar, it's an impressively detailed creation, plastered with cannons and yummy greebles that run all the way up and over the length of the ship. He presented it at BrickSlopes 2015 where he took Best of Show, Best of Space, and Best original Spaceship. Congrats, David!

It seems no matter how many Iron Builder challenges I see, I'm always still amazed at the speed, creativity and quality of the builds, and this one is no different. These guys are cranking out MOC after MOC, and each one is better than the last. Like this stunning peacock from KOS, amazing.
I don't know why, but one of my first vivid memories is my dad loading me and my brother into the back of the family car at some ungodly hour of the morning to set out cross county. Once we were safely loaded in, he handed us two giant handfuls of those prizes you get from machines like this one from Gilcélio. They kept us occupied until at least the city limit as we headed off to Topeka...in a beetle.
My good buddies at Beyond The Brick have a Kickstarter going to produce an exclusive DVD of Brickworld Chicago 2015. Not only can you help these guys produce a pretty sweet DVD, there's some really cool awards and stretch goals. Check out the video and help these guys out!
David Steeves has come up with this intimidating pirate escort fighter/interceptor. Gotta love the flag, just so there's absolutely no question about who you're dealing with. A classic pirate ship's mast as a mega blaster is a clever detail, too. Seeing that there's only the one gun, I assume the ship can be configured depending on which side the pilot's eye patch is on...
And you thought Volvo only made boring station wagons for suburban soccer moms. Oh contraire! They make some pretty cool excavation equipment, too, like this 1:11 scale beast by davy linden. Gotta love the detail he put into this build, like all the little hydraulic hoses, and the tasty chrome accents. Just one suggestion, davy, take it outside and dig some real dirt!!
