Still Life

Now I’m no painter, but I know that in art there exists the concept of still life which is all about an arrangement of inanimate objects and colors. These flowers by Birgitte Jonsgard are a perfect embodiment of this artistic concept to achieve something truly beautiful and tranquil. Life, as well as Lego, can become very chaotic and confusing, so sometimes you just need to calm yourself and stop to smell the roses.

Gunsect

They call him the Gunsect. He’s the baddest bug in the west, and he’s here to bring law and order to the lands beyond the hive. This gun slinging, crumb eating critter by Paddy Bricksplitter is here to shoot first and ask questions latter. After a hard days work, maybe a few poker games, you can be sure to see him ride off into the sunset. Or is that a giant bug zapper? Nobody knows.

RC McLaren Senna

I remember having an RC car back in the day. An awesome cherry red Ferrari Enzo with silver rims and even headlights that you could turn on. This bad boy would zoom around the house at ungodly speeds, until it would eventually crash into a wall every time. Nonetheless, I’m pretty sure my 8 year old self would not mind having this McLaren Senna by morimorilego instead. A new ride built out of my favorite toy! But I can’t imagine the damage of crashing this RC car into a wall. Absolutely brutal.

A Healthy Start

There’s nothing like waking up Sunday morning to the smell of breakfast being cooked over the stove. It’s a great way to start the day and let us not forget that it is the most important meal of the day! -Little John has given us a delicious appetizer for his new series of builds that will probably make me hungry every time I look at them. But above all, this moc shows that every one deserves a healthy and fresh start, even those broken pieces of brown Lego.

Old Faithful Soyuz

In a time where rockets are being developed at an astonishing pace and the private space industry is booming, it is important to remember the faithful methods of transportation that have served us time and time again in the past. The Soyuz rocket program is one of these and Jussi Koskinen has created a beautiful replica that even includes a mini Soyuz capsule. This behemoth of a rocket is worthy of being displayed next to my Saturn V rocket as a reminder of the ingenuity of humanity.

TIE Interrogator

Behold the TIE Interrogator, a sleek TIE fighter by NS Brick Designs made to strike fear in the eyes of rebels while providing ears on their transmissions. As majestic as an eagle and as silent as a wasp, this recon fighter is fit for a spy or anyone wishing to see what others don’t while remaining undetected. I could personally see this used by the Inquisitorius from Star Wars Rebels or even Vader himself. Although unlikely, that sure would be cool.

B-Project

Nothing screams Star Wars more than an epic space battle with some masterfully composed music by John Williams. Although The Last Jedi was not a perfect movie, it did provide some of this classic Star Wars goodness. This bomber by Mirko Soppelsa is an amazing rendition of one of the newest vehicles to take flight and its details are jaw dropping (or should I say bomb dropping?). Be sure to check out more photos while I geek out and hum Star Wars music.

A Little Patch Of Blue

With all the chaos and stress associated with the modern world, I sometimes wish we could go back to a simpler life, just living off of nature with constant and peaceful freedom. But then I remember that the great outdoors is not my forte, with things like mosquitos (eww) and diseases (double eww). I guess I’ll just stick to enjoying the jungle through this image by MassEditor.

New Ventures

It seems that the 1980’s classic spacemen have developed a sense of entrepreneurship and have decided to expand their ventures into space mining. With a crew this large and a fearsome machine, it is unquestionable that Andreas Lenander’s astronauts are on their way in making a multimillion credit business. It would seem that their skin color has also changed. Weird. Probably all that alien space dust.

Battle Of Jakku

Although Battlefront II was not the most acclaimed game of 2017 and has caused many to go to the dark side with their hatred towards EA (Master Yoda warned us!), it is one of the most visually stunning games I have ever seen, and the same can be said about this MOC by First Order Lego. The chaos and scale do justice to the game and the textures make it hard for me to take my eyes off this diorama. I would highly recommend checking out the other shots of this beautifully detailed MOC!

Turbinia

Don’t you sometimes feel the urge to speed across a desert planet, leaving a trail of alien dust behind you? If so, this speeder by David Roberts 01341 is perfect for you! This massive turbine speeder bike looks like it was pulled straight off a podracer. But knowing podracing, it is safe to assume that this speeder will be stolen to make a podracer instead! Just remember, what happens in the Outer Rim stays in the Outer Rim.

NASA's Evil Twin

I’ve got to admit, I’m a sucker for NASA’s rockets and I can spend hour gawking at the marvels of human engineering. But NASA ain’t got nothin’ on this ship by halfbeak! With a ton of black, a handful of green, a dash of realism and a pinch of antimatter, what’s not to like? Not to mention a hint of nefarious criminal activity by NASA’s evil twin, NAST (pronounced nasty). Put simply, if NASA were Futuron, NAST would be the Blacktron of space exploration.

NALSAR

There are very few things that are more American than NASCAR races. Hopping on the couch with a soda in one hand and the remote in the other, watching grown men drive cars in loops, one left turn after another, and secretly hoping to see a highly entertaining car wreck. But replace those cars with speeders and now you’re onto something! PigletCiamek has created NALSAR which is sure to satisfy your desire for speed and danger. Now THIS is podracing!

Munsin Class Escort Frigate

There's been an awakening. Have you felt it? That's right! SHIPtember is just around the corner and noblebun is warming up their shipbuilding skills with this fantastic frigate. I've got to say, I love the angles and all, but what really catches my eye is the use of copper elements, especially that arc reactor looking engine in the back. This ship would definitly make Tony Stark proud.

A Pirate's Life For Me

Although I never owned any LEGO Pirates sets in my youth, I still have very fond memories of playing with these beloved sets in a friend's attic. This model by LegoFjotten really captures the whimsical feel of these sets and brings a huge smile to my face as I recall the endless hours of adventure between the Pirates and the Imperial Soldiers. And let's be real, we all played as the pirates.

Sunny With A Chance Of Sharks

Surfing is already pretty rad, but combined with hot rods you end up with something totally tubular! Andrea Lattanzio has made a gnarly scene that makes me want to go hit the waves with a bunch of bros. Then I remember that I don't speak like a surfer dude and don't have a hotrod. At least I know I won't become shark food, right?

Totally Tubular!

Hurler

Just when you think you've heard of every sport possible, from underwater hockey to bog snorkeling, out of nowhere comes some BrickHead that makes you question everything you know. This particular BrickHead by jarekwally is a hurler from the Limerick team. You heard me right, a hurler! Hurling is apparently an outdoor team sport of Gaelic and Irish origin that revolves around hitting a small ball with a bat into the opponent's goal. Huh, sounds a lot like a combination of soccer and baseball, maybe I should give it a try someday.
