Tortooga

I know what you are all thinking, this isn’t from Pirates of the Caribbean?!? No, it’s not, and as the kids say these days you got click-baited. I’m kidding! Tortooga is actually the name Klikstyle gave to this wonderful little turtle from a fantasy world. Although part of me is thinking about how adorable it is, there’s always that other part of me that wonders what it tastes like. But I’m sure with sharp spines and a shell like that it’s safe from my flimsy hands, for now.

Smug Mug

I don’t know what it is about this mech by Markus Rollbühler, but it has had me grinning ear to ear ever since I first laid my eyes on it. Maybe it’s the smug yet whimsical look on the classic yellow mini-figure, or maybe it’s just the thought of being even lazier when getting a hot beverage in the morning. But in the end, we all know that the reason why this mech has me grinning is because it resembles the cute and not at all creepy character from Toy Story: Babyface.

Endless Summer

As this summer comes to a close for some of us more unfortunate people (I’m looking at you students), I think now is a good time to think about all the warm summer days we experienced in preparation for the season to drift by. This scene by Norton74 is perfect for this and it takes me on a journey to a place of fine sand wedged in toes and nice cold beverages chilling at our side. And I know all the purist out there are thinking something along the lines of “EEEEEK SAND!”, but let me tell you you’ve just gotta chill out dudes, hang ten, and all that jazz.

Back In Black

You know him, you love him. He’s darkest of knights, the moodiest of brutes, the richest of bit… alright, maybe I shouldn’t finish that sentence. Anyways it’s the one and only Batman! With just some black and a bit of very very dark grey, timofey_tkachev was able to bust out a great rendition of this iconic super hero to celebrate his 80th anniversary! Now all that’s left to do is to pull out some old comic books or perhaps some episodes of the 1960’s Batman tv series to reminisce on just how far the Dark Knight has come.

For Those About To Rock

As a child I remember having a cute music box with an angel that would come out and dance to a soothing melody. It was a charming item, but I’m sure my childhood self wouldn’t have minded to also have this sick music box by LEGO 7. The animals are just having a blast and there’s soo much energy that I can’t help but rock my head back and forth to the sweet tunes of ACDC. Rock on my little dudes. Rock on.

Andy's Hamburgers

Everyone loves a good hamburger. I mean how could you not? They are convenient, customizable, and not to mention very tasty! The only thing that can make them better though is when they are served from a snazzy restaurant like this one by Andrea Lattanzio. The beautiful vintage architecture and the millions of details are enough to make me forget my deep craving for a juicy burger for just a moment. Mmmmmm, hamburgers…

Watch The Orange

Sometimes all you need in life is a little bit of color to brighten up your day. And just by looking at this watchtower, I’m sure Ayrlego can agree with that. It has a perfect combination of interesting techniques and beautiful palettes to make me feel all happy inside and fuel my imagination. Now I can’t help but ask, orange you glad I didn’t make any puns? I just ruined it didn’t I? I guess I’ll see myself out now.

Coral Brick Road

Nothing to see here. Just three classic astronauts going on an adventure. All they have to do is follow this beautiful coral brick road by adde51 to get what their hearts desire. Maybe they are looking for heroic courage, an alien brain, or a magical heart? The possibilities are endless. All I know is that I can hear them cheerfully singing in the distance, something to do with finding a wizard.

The Tooth Monster

You know, there are only two things that scare me in this world. Monsters and dentists. Ok maybe spiders too but that’s besides the point. Fortunately for you and I, bricks.life.idea is here to remind us that the two can exist in harmony with this terrifying yet awesome creature. That smile. Those teeth. Now that’s a face only a mother, or a dentist, could love.

Lego Dynamics

Technology is advancing at an astonishing pace in this day and age, and it is always fascinating to see the great leaps made by some of the technological startups around the world. Boston Dynamics is one of the leading companies working on robotics and the work that they have done over the years is absolutely mind-boggling, from robots that can handle boxes to robots that can do flips! FIDO, the mechanical pet by _CZQ_ is heavily inspired by Boston Dynamics robot SPOT yet retains its own independence with some wonderful little details and greebling. This is truly a man’s, or a robot’s, best friend.

Lumbricidae Park

I don’t know about you, but when I think of earthworms I think of dumb and blind little tube-like creatures that do nothing but process organic matter into dirt. Now I’d expect their ancestors to be the same, but according to Tino Poutiainen not only are they dumb and blind, but also very, very, hungry. Let’s just hope that they’d rather make dirt instead of human remains should a Jurassic Park situation arise.

Many Shades Of Grey

When asked to describe the medieval times, as you do in any normal conversation, it is often difficult to focus on a single aspect of this important historical time period. I mean making the choice between discussing knights in shining armor and the bubonic plague is terribly difficult! Nonetheless, next time i find myself immersed in medieval history I might just want to refer to this castle by Aaron Newman, which depicts a mighty fortress while retaining the perfect color scheme for the hardships of this not-so-fun time to live in.

Gilded Doors

After being introduced to Lego, I have slowly seen my perception of the world around me evolve over time. I have learned to appreciate the small details in everything and the passion individuals put into their craft. These gilded doors by aukbricks are a perfect link between two worlds, providing a beautifully detailed door through the median we all know and love.

Four Seasons

With the blazing heat of summer here to accompany us every step we make, it becomes hard to remember a time without sunburns and a constant desire for air conditioning. Luckily for us, roΙΙi is here to remind us of all the other wonderful seasons of the year in this fantastic series of micro builds. And let me tell you, the summer micro build really floats my boat if you know what I’m saying.

Torrac's Race Bike

Of all the intricate pieces Lego builders have at their disposal, perhaps the most ironic one and the one we take for granted the most is the piece separator. It is a highly valuable tool that can spare your nails from extreme pain by separating those two 2x2 plates that have spent an eternity attached to one another after a child decided they would fit nicely together. This speeder by Inthert perfectly illustrates a wonderful use of this often forgotten piece that creates a fascinating shape. Let’s just hope the speeder doesn’t feel the wrath of the piece separator mid-flight!

Tour De Paris

Ahh, Paris, the city of lights and love. In this wonderful depiction by Markus Rollbühler you can almost hear the sound of the cafes and see the Eiffel Tower rising above the buildings in the distance. The smell of fresh bread and coffee fills your nose as you walk past a bakery and as you walk over a bridge you can hear and smell the Seine, which is not a pleasant as the bread but is almost as beautiful. You walk past a restaurant and… wait, is that a rat cooking? It must have been your imagination. After all, Paris is a magical place.

Fetchbot

What is the biggest problem LEGO builders face? No, not the price of LEGO. Not the illegal building techniques either. It’s not even the time waiting for the next BrickNerd blog. It’s of course finding the right darn piece! Now if only we could all have this perfect little companion built by Sven Franic to help us find those pesky parts life would be so much simpler. I highly recommend checking out the article that explores the new Ninjago turntable piece used for the hands which you can find here.

Into The Unknown

When I was little, growing up to be an astronaut was all the rage. With our head in the stars, we dreamed about distant galaxies and meting aliens along the way. But this moc by Ralf Langer is nothing like that. This is not the colorful domaine of cute and friendly aliens from cartoons, and judging by the state of this facility the last thing these aliens are thinking about is having a good time. As this astronaut ventures deep into the alien compound, he might just send out one last message into the stars: “This is Brickley last survivor of the Nostromo, signing off”.

Lazy Leslie

Leslie is a simple man. He likes to read his Sunday paper in his favorite armchair after a filling meal. I mean, what's not to like about that? I’m sure we can all agree that Leslie’s plan, as well as this MOC by justin_m_winn, are fabulous in every way, shape, and form. I think we should all be more like Leslie and embrace the laziness we all deserve.
