Sea Battle

For the uninitiated NPU stands for "nice part use", it's an abbreviation reserved for those MOCs with part use so clever it borders on mind-blowing. Those parts tend to be those ones that are languishing in a bin, ignored and unused because they're simply too special and one-use. This mini sea battle by builder the_jetboy is a perfect example of NPU. Those boat hulls are Chima Speedorz. That's not the only excellent feature of this MOC though, it's awesome everywhere you look, click through for more pics.

Goliath Transport

Why is it that space transports are just so cool? Seriously, think of all the iconic spaceships from pop-culture over the years, the Millennium Falcon, Serenity USCSS Nostromo, Hunter-Gratzner, etc.. Heck, even NASA's Space Shuttle was basically a fancy space-faring U-Haul truck. This Space Police Goliath by Tim Goddard is also one real spiffy transport with its retro cool colors harkening back to the original Space Police series. Now all we need is an attacking Blacktron ship attempting to free the transport's criminal cargo and we would be all set.

Erebor

Bigger doesn't necessarily mean better, better means better. Excellent building is impressive on any scale, but when you combine excellent building on this type of scale you have something special. Just look at the scale and majesty of this MOC by migalert! Standing before this must give you an inkling of what it must have been like for Thorin and his party to return to the Lonely Mountain.

Sandra Loves The 80's

I'm a kid of the 80's. I wore parachute pants, listened to Duran Duran, watched MTV when they had music and kept my eyes on the skies for ICBMs. The proportions and color selection of this sexy bot by DViddy were the first thing that caught my eye. But it's the inclusion of a classic Sony Sport Walkman (which I also had) that put this over the top for me.

Rosso Corsa

One of the most renowned endurance racers of the 1960's, the Ferrari 330 P4 dominated at Monza, Daytona, and LeMans. The source material has some decidedly sexy and difficult curves to replicate, and through some sort of deal with the devil or otherworldy black magic, Bob Alexander has captured them perfectly. In addition to bending the brick to his will, Bob has also managed to stuff in a gloriously detailed engine - an ABS glimpse into a 450HP V12 that most people will never get the chance to see in real life.

Mini Palace Cinema

This is something that's been on my ever-growing-and-completely-unachievable "to do" list since I finished building the real thing a couple years ago. I guess I can scratch it off now because this version by sillysparkle is awesome. The Mini Modulars is one of my favorite sets, and this makes a perfect addition to it, nice work!

Stormtrooper

I was just thinking about stormtroopers while I was making my tea, then I go to my Flickr feed and see this awesome MOC by umamen. This is fantastic! I love that it is posable, and has different configurations, like a Han Solo head. But the stand out feature to me is that helmet, wow!

Double Decker Basket!

It's the perfect invention! You know, so you can open your Easter eggs, eat some chocolates and celebrate spring with your buddies! It's a whole lot of Easter fun from builder Powerpig. Happy Easter everyone!

Don't Mess With The Bunny...

I'm not sure if she's about to lead an Easter Egg hunt, or an attack on a Rebel outpost.  Either way, gotta love this nerdly mix of Star Wars and the festive Spring holiday by InkBlotPhoto!  The depth of field, in addition to the pop of hot pink, makes for a great example of macro photography.  And you have to imagine the WTF expression under the helmet of that middle Stormtrooper.  So Happy Easter, to you here on Earth, and in galaxies far far away!

Shy Guy

If you've spent much time paying Mario or Yoshi games you've had to content with these little trouble makers. It's a Shy Guy, perfectly done by builder Swan Dutchman. Wouldn't it be funny if under the mask they all looked like Shigeru Miyamoto? Ok, not that funny, but an easter egg like that would be pretty epic. 

(Epic) Sea Battle

The battle about to take place here looks a little one sided, the ship on the right is a full two studs longer than the one on the left. Micro scale seafaring battle has never looked better than this tiny but awesome MOC by builder gid617. I especially like the ship on the right, with the use of minifig hands for flags and the varying angles on the sails. It might not be strictly "legal" building, but when it looks this cool I don't care.

Matt rowntRee is up to his old tricks, this time with Marvin, the condescending Martian bent on Earth's destruction.  Always good for a laugh!  Check out Matt's MocPages post for close up pics of the crafty construction techniques.  Clickets!?!  Interesting, very interesting indeed!

It's The Easter Pikachu!

I mean why not? It makes as much sense as a bunny that delivers chocolate eggs right? (no offense Easter Bunny, I'd still like a basket with some LEGO and maybe some Whoppers) This Pikachu from builder zkdlalsxm brings back a lot of memories of my son attempting to "catch 'em all", and he's posable, most impressive.

Alternate! Alternate! ALTERNATE!

Check out this alt-build for Benny's Spaceship: Asimov I Starship, by Piotr Turecki.  The ship has some nifty design features such as a detachable bow module.  Plus everybody fits inside (Kitty's in the cargo bay).  But what really jumps out is the photo editing-Stunning!  I'll have to imagine an effect like that the next time I swoosh one of MY ships around the living room.  Awesome!

LEGO Computer

Computers are pretty nerdy, LEGO is pretty nerdy and Mike Schropp is pretty nerdy (my kind of geek!) He has brought his considerable customizing and fabricating skill to build one of the coolest custom-built computers I've ever seen. And it sports some impressive specs too, this isn't some crippled system that put form over function. He shared the whole process on his excellent website Total Geekdom.

Queen Of The Damned

As a kid, one of my absolute favorite series of video games was Armored Core. It offered a seemingly infinite variety of mecha parts to build your own from scratch, and outfit it as necessary for the battle at hand. I think I spent more time designing mecha than actually playing the game. Builder CCY has manufactured this glorious version named AALIYAH, and it is simply divine. Make sure to browse the entire photo set, as the builder has gone the extra mile by building all sorts of extra boosters, weapons, and add-ons to customize this agile and deadly beast.

Tintin Moon Tank

Although Tintin is typically known for his terrestrial adventures he has taken a trip to the moon from time to time. The most significant adventures appear in 1953 and 1954 when fascination in space was at an all time high throughout the world. And what is cooler than trolling around on the moon? Trolling around the moon in a tank of course! This reproduction of Tintin's famous tank from builder Tyler is very true to the original from the comics. Tyler uses many excellent building techniques and details in the reproduction including Titin's dog Snowy in one of the tanks front pods.
