/Where Does He Get Those Wonderful Toys?
/In 1989 when Tim Burton's Batman came out I was super busy at work. Consequently I had to wait a couple weeks before I had time to see it. During that time all my fanboy friends were quite gleefully bashing the hell out of it, so I entered the theater expecting the worst. I loved it. I learned a lesson that day to make my own mind up about things, to try and have an open mind and no pre-conceptions. This Batmobile is also one of my favorites, probably because we hadn't seen anything like it at the time. Nice work Ralph, you nailed it.
Orbscure
/Corner Hardware Store
/When I was a kid hardware stores were like this. Small, family owned and fun. We had a couple in my town and they were always fascinating to visit. Those days are gone for the most part, with small hardware stores replaced by the likes of Home Depot. I just can't imagine wandering aimlessly through this little shop looking for an anchor bolt and not being able to find a soul to help me.
Chip 'N' Dale
/The only thing more surprising than the quality of this build is that I found it on Brickshelf. This charming MOC comes to us from m-and-m (or is that M&M?), the same builder as the nifty Alice In Wonderland featured not too long ago. Obviously I need visit Brickshelf more often (but sorry kids, it's dying a slow death).
Happy Birthday Brothers Brick!
/It has been eight years since the first post on TBB, and what an eventful eight years it has been. TBB was one of the first websites I found when I was discovering that I wasn't the only adult playing with LEGO ("adult" used here as a measurement of time, not maturity). They've been a source of inspiration and information for years and they're nothing less than awesome. Happy B-Day TBB!
Manaor Castle
/This castle by Soccersnyderi would be eye catching and charming enough on it's own, but the fact that it hinges open puts it over the top for me. I love the use of different colors and textures in the walls to break it up. I assume the mixing of old and new grays in intentional, unlike when I do it (stupid colorblindness).
The Pigeon
/The smartest gentlemen know that getting where you're going in a hurry need not be by carriage or hansom, but by steam power. And what better way than the Pigeon? You too can step lively and make an impression, and cut your commute by half. Why count your horse power by actual horses?
“The Pigeon is the cleverest contraption these tired eyes have seen in a long time.”
"I Love You"..."I Know"
/OK, what are the odds that two amazing carbon freeze chambers from The Empire Strikes Back would show up in two days? I know there's a contest going on, but is one of the categories "build a carbon freeze chamber"? I can't read German so I'm not sure what's going on, but as long as these cool MOCs keep coming I don't care. I do care about the photography though, stop shooting MOCs with iPhones.
