The BrickNerd "Pimp My Nerdly" Contest
/Hey fellow LEGO nerds, it's contest time! We want to see how you interpret or trick out Nerdly. Your creativity is the only limit in this contest. Lino Martins sparked this with his hot rod Nerdly, but how about a Star Wars Nerdly, or a Mickey Mouse Nerdly, or a Neo Classic Space Nerdly, or super hero Nerdly? (I think you see where we're going with this) Get your bricks out and enter by September 30th!
To download instructions for Nerdly visit this link. But you don't have to follow them, get as creative as you want.

MDI.042 Tortaga
/m_o__k_e_y is back with another excellent mech. This one has a stance and structure I don't think I've seen before. I especially like the back of the legs and the connectivity of the legs to the body. Spindly and chunky at the same time. It's like the illegitimate love child of ED-209 and ATLAS.
Sea Monster!!!
/Batten down the hatches, man the pumps, all men on deck! Check out this amazing entry for the Legends of Brickdom Global Adventure Challenge. The sea creature is absolutely stunning, check out those scales, how is that possible? Amazing work LukeClarenceVan!
Builder Showcase - Peter Reid
/If any of you read my article in issue 16 of BrickJournal you know I spent nearly a year in London in 2010-2011. You'll also know that one of the things that kept me sane was spending time with the guy that became my best mate across the pond, Pete Reid. We drank a lot of tea, built a lot of MOCs and did a lot of photography.

/I'm going to be sad when this round of Iron Builder is over. I'm still getting over when BrucyWan went up against CMaddison, so many MOCs, just, so many. Today we have an exceptional little mech, with rotors no less, up against an absolutely brilliant build of a watermelon caught in the act of being decimated by a sniper's bullet.
Clue
/One of my favorite games as a youth was Clue. An exercise in deductive reasoning, and morbid fun. Poor Mr. Body always started out the same, dead. One of the most fun and completely pointless additions to the game were the tiny props. They served no purpose, but we loved to play with them every game. I declare that it was Zack, in the Legoratory with the brick separator!
Venus Fly Trap
/Plants that eat things are disturbing. MOCs of plants that eat things are fabulous. Mark of Falworth is still battling fiercely in the Iron Builder, and this latest MOC proves that the hunger is still there. But is it as great as the hunger of this plant?
Children's Museum Of Discovery
/This micro building by Luap31 is so clean and well done it could be confused for an official set. Although I have to confess I have no idea if this is a real building or not. I especially like the profile bricks on their side, and the large art piece out in front.
Defending The City
/I'm not sure of the details on this MOC, I think it's a collaborative build but there's no description. I am sure it's friggin' awesome though. It's an epic battle with multiple fights involving several super heroes. There's tons going on here so you'll have to click through and check out some of the closeups. My favorite details are the "o" from the hotel smashing the car and the street damage where Superman is having the smack down put on him (I'm sure he'll win in the end)
Review - Brickstuff lighting products
/Lighting options from LEGO are limited. You have light bricks, Power Function lights and older, clumsy options like train lights and fiber optics. Luckily there's several aftermarket options to choose from, and now there's a new player in town, Brickstuff.
Read MoreMr. Mietek
/I love when a builder totally thinks outside the box. When the_jetboy saw Jabba's body the first thing he thought was "those would make great shoes" (the first thing I thought was Jabba eats like I do). Add a Deathstar for a head and a wigwam for a body and you have Mr. Mietek, genius!
Ace Granger Space Ranger
/There's so much about this I love I'm having trouble keeping my composure. Actually, who's going to care, the puppies? (does little happy dance, no one knows). This is an excellent little bit of Photoshop and photography. It hits the mark for total retro look, right down to the Brickarms ray gun. There's some great subtle humor in the text too. I want to watch this series right now!
Brick Twerk
/The moment I saw these images flooding Facebook yesterday I could practically hear Iain's brick bins getting rummaged, it was inevitable and had to be. I'm not exactly implying Miley did this so that Iain could build it, nor am I saying she wouldn't have done it if Iain wasn't standing by. I'm just saying she did it, and he did it, and it was just meant to be.
Game Time!
/Here at BrickNerd we like to look back from time to time, and in the game room. Ayleen Gaspar of Toy Break fame built these wonderful little board games for BrickCon 2011. And get this, they're all playable to a certain degree! I was smitten then and I still dig them. These are the games of my youth, plus many more of course. I wonder if anyone has attempted LEGO lawn darts, hmmm...
Power Up
/I just can't resist this MOC, it's powerful (see what I did there?) Seriously though, I'm drawn to it like all really well done props and real-world items. That's two MOCs posted by newcomer LoctiteGirl and two blogged, I think we can expect great things from this builder.
Troll Dreadbringer
/This is a striking image, the color palette, the background, the warm lighting, not to mention the build itself. It's all very well done. I like the whimsy of dinosaurs pulling a troll machine of war too, it's fun and terrifying at the same time. Nice work burlogh.
