Whenever I see a build in this style for some reason celtic music or something similar the the Lord of the Rings soundtrack plays in my head. There's just something so wonderfully organic and appealing when it's done right, and this MOC by One More Brick is done right. I especially like the tapered foundation, it feels at once like it might tip over and also sit soundly forever.

Exo Suit designer Peter Reid has posted a fantastic side-by-side of his design vs the final product from LEGO and LEGO designer Mark Stafford. Clearly scale is a major deviation, as well as ankle joints and some of the larger body components like the barrels in the forearms. But as you can see it's faithful to the spirit, and fantastically designed. I prefer Pete's compactness and more mechanical look, but I sorta like LEGO's take on contrast. I prefer Pete's more exposed cockpit as well, but Mark's makes great use of the new handlebars. We'll have a LiveBuild and full review soon enough, in the mean time just stare at this and droooooool.
Thinking outside the box and being truly original doesn't come easy, that is unless you're builder Ryckyloko apparently. One look at his photostream and you'll be treated to a great number of MOCs that seamlessly blend Bionicle and System in innovative and organic shapes. Like this insect inspired deep space vessel, crazy cool.

MacLane is on a roll with is awesome "couch" series of MOCs. The latest has everything from a little post apocalyptic relaxation to Cobra and GIjOE in their lighter moments. These are amazing not only for how iconic and instantly recognizable they are, but how each one tells a different (and hilariously mundane) story.
LEGO Ideas designer Peter Reid is teasing us, but I'm OK with it. Mainly because I know we're so very close to finally getting our hands on his mechanical bipedal beauty the Exo Suit. I had the honor of holding the original in my hands and I can't wait to play with it's brethren.

Retro-New is the first thing that comes to mind when trying to describe builder billyburg's latest little space cruiser. Most of the building techniques and parts used are modern, but the color mix along with our brave pilot send me back to the classic LEGO 80's-something space program. However, unlike the mostly exploration based space series of the 80's, I can totally see a small fleet of these things spilling out of a large corsair ship, speeding off to engage some unknown alien threat.
This so needs to be a thing. Builder Kosmas Santosa has mashed up Titanfall and classic World War II conflict in this amazing MOC. How cool would that alternate universe be? Imagine these things walking out of the water on Normandy Beach. Somebody call EA quick!
Yes, it was one year ago today that BrickNerd officially launched. It's been a crazy year, and I can't thank all of you enough for your support. I'd love to flood you with some amazing stats like number of posts, Likes on Facebook and stuff like that, but I haven't had time to gather any. I have some alarming news, builder Orion Pax has caught Gundam fever. Although little is known about this disease it would appear the only way to treat it is to build some amazing mechs. I think he'll get better though, if these MOCs are any indication. Check out his website for a ton more pictures of this amazing build.

This is a fun little concept, a micro scale building of a relief map. Sir Valient packed a ton of detail into this fairly small space, including numerous ships and structures. But my favorite detail has to be the sea serpent, check out the bottom of the map, he's right there.
The latest LUGnuts challenge is all about secret agents, and Lino M delivers quite an entry with this ultra custom spy car of the future. It features a extendable rotating weapons rack, missiles, a buzz saw, and can deploy a motorcycle from the passenger side! And all in a totally badass looking package.
