Wraiths On Treads
/Here's a thing of nightmares, or maybe a nerdgasmic mashup, up to you. Builder Chris Darmawan dared to imagine what the Nazgul would do with a little military upgrade, and I have to say it would be terrifying to see this roaring at you across the rocky plains of Mordor. It's like Batman and the Witch King got together and spent a little time in the garage.
Oh and if it wasn't cool enough standing still, it's motorized!
Happy Birthday Brothers Brick!
/The fine humans at TBB were some of the first friends I made when I jumped into the AFOL scene back in 2009. They showed me just how awesome the people of this community are and made me feel very welcome. I look forward to seeing them every year at BrickCon and I've been visiting their website at least once a day for years. Today they celebrate their 9th birthday, let's all sing along....
Congratulations on 10,000 votes!
/I know it's a showing a bit of favoritism, but I love this MOC and I'm really hoping it goes to the next level. Angus MacLane's WALL•E has just passed the 10,000 mark, qualifying it for official review by LEGO. If all goes well we can all have an adorable little robot of our own, best of luck Angus!
BrickNerd Live Build - Fairground Mixer

LiveBuild Tonight With Special Guest Joe Meno!
/Hey LEGO fans we're going live again tonight to build 10244 Fairground Mixer and I'm very happy to be joined by none other than BrickJournal Editor-In-Chief and AFOL superstar Joe Meno! We'll also be giving away a load of free stuff to supporters and fans including badge bricks, Nerdly bricks, books, props from Beyond the Brick and an Exo Suit! Speaking of supporting, we're still having our 2014 Pledge Drive and really appreciate all your donations.
We'll start building at 6pm PST, join us!
Just Another Day In The Warehouse
/I've worked in several warehouse environments before, and they all seem to be about the same. But I can't help thinking that there would be something just a little magical if it was filled with LEGO. Built by TheBrickMan for a departing friend, what an awesome gift!
Sharkdiculous
/SyFy is the epicenter of all things ridiculous when it comes to plot devices and preposterous title characters. But how can you accuse them of jumping the shark when they blew them in on a tornado? Well our pals at TBB are having a little contest and things are starting to get interesting. Take for instance this offering from M<0><0>DSWIM, which not only features the main character riding a shark on top of a tornado holding a chainsaw, but it's got forced perspective too!
Come See Me Tonight!
/Tonight at SDCC is A Look at Beyond The Brick: A LEGO Brickumentary, a panel I'm honored to be sitting on. If you're attending the conference, and not stuck in another endless and pointless line, come see me be a dork in front of hundreds of people. I've also got a load of badge bricks, so feel free to stalk me after the panel!
'49 Caddy
/There's really nothing like the beautiful lines and contours of classic American cars, and builder J0n4th4n D3rk53n has captured them perfectly in this gorgeous 1949 Cadillac. The details are subtle and effortless on this MOC, like the stone guards on the back fenders, and the shaping on the fins. But that front grill...masterpiece.
F-49A Patriot
/Jon Hall is back with my new favorite aircraft in his ever-expanding fleet. The Patriot is reminiscent of my best-loved fighter of all time, the Corsair, but in a twin pusher canard configuration that screams 'air dominance'. I especially like the color scheme of classic navy & white, and those grill/nacelle combinations are awesome.
Oh My God, He Built Kenny!
/Right on the heels of his fantastic good guys and bad guys, SuckMyBrick is back with everyone's favorite foul-mouthed paper cutouts, the kids from Southpark. I knew when the Mixels came out with their plentitude of various eyes we would see an explosion of character builds, and I'm totally cool with that. Every one of these little guys is instantly recognizable.
SDCC Is In Full Swing
/I generally don't feature digital builds, but since I'm presently at SDCC and speaking tomorrow on a panel (Looking at Beyond The Brick: A LEGO Brickumentary at 5pm) I'm immersed in all things nerd, this MOC caught my eye. It's actually a good example at how building digitally can actually be way harder than just getting out the bricks (assuming you have them). Having recently dealt with flexible elements in a digital model, I know how tricky this was.
Good Guys And Bad Guys
/With a name like SuckMyBrick, you can expect something a bit edgy, and hilarious caricatures of evil world leaders sorta fits the bill. Luckily there's also hilarious caricatures of good guys to balance everything out. Click through for plenty more wonderful figures.
The Heirs Of Durin
/Builder Pate-keetongu is back with more of his merry (ok, some of them are grumpy) band of deposed dwarves hell-bent on retaking their domain from a irritable dragon. This time it's the King under the Mountain, Thorin Oakenshield and his nephews Fili and Kili.
I'm Going To SDCC 2014!
/Hey there fellow nerds, I'm going to Comic-con! I'm heading to San Diego today and will be there until Sunday. I apologize in advance if posts are sporadic.
On Saturday I'm speaking on a panel, A Look At Beyond The Brick, A LEGO Brickumentary, at 5pm in room 23ABC. I hope to see you there!
Marvel Mixel Masterpieces
/As the world's nerd population descends upon San Diego California (this nerd included) all manner of dedication to the universe of comics and pop culture is on display. Builder monsterbrick has assembled his own band of heroes mashing up Marvel and the fabulous ball joints from the Mixels line (with a few fun eyeballs to boot). There's some seriously pose-able super hero action going on here.
Teeming With Bugs
/On a recent visit to Hawaii I remembered something about home that I take for granted, very few bugs. It takes a trip outside your bubble sometimes to realize what you have. Not that I have anything against bugs (at least the ones that don't want to nibble on me). But I suppose if all bugs had fun googly eyes like these from legorobo:waka they would be more entertaining to be around.
