Nerdy About The Bricks
I do have a weakness for LEGO props. Anytime my Flickr feed fools me with a thumbnail I find it delightful. Now going to the doctor, that's a different story. But I think if he or she used this amazing LEGO equipment by Gilcélio I'd be easier to talk into making a visit
There's a monthly subscription for just about every area of interest now, from beef jerky to quilting. But until recently, there was nothing for the LEGO fans out there. Well, now there's Brick Loot, a new company promising monthly boxes of LEGO goodness. They were kind enough to send me a sample box and I'll share the contents with you.

I plan to join them either late Friday or early Saturday. no idea what I'll do, but you can bet it'll be fun.
Tomorrow I will break out the Christmas carols for the first time of the year. We usually decorate for Christmas after feasting on Turkey and we'll listen to carols as we do it. Especially fun when I break out the vinyl, since I have all the records we listened to as a child. Back then they were played on a console very similar to this brilliant old school turntable by Yul Burman Karel.
As I always do I must disclose that I'm not a huge Transformers fan. It came along just a bit late for my childhood and the movies are just dumb. But I totally appreciate some awesome building, and this super deformed Optimus Prime from MacLane fits the bill. Now if someone could super deform Shia LaBeouf...
When I was a kid, Spiderman was my favorite super hero (Ironman too, but there were less toys). I have fond memories of racing around the cup-de-sac with my inexplicable Spiderman motorhome with my Mego figure inside. Now nobu_tary has created one of the best MOCs of everyone's favorite web slinger I've ever seen.
I don't know what mythical creature this MOC by Stuart Delahay is inspired by. Nor can I tell you the circumstances which led to this meeting. All I can say is I'm pretty sure the odds are stacked towards the big red guy, just sayin'.
You enter a small corridor, the dank smell of mildew and death burns your nostrils as you transfer the flame of your torch to the one on the wall. As the torch flickers to life more of the hall is revealed. There is a door to the left, and one to the right, what do you do? I'll tell you what you do, you break out your bricks and get building for the Iron Builder D&D Mixels Contest! Now roll a 10x and get building!
Did you really think it was all patrolling, hunting down bounties and force choking? No! After hours on the death star there's some serious rocking to do. And you haven't lived until you've heard one of Vader's ripping solos. Nice build Julius von Brunk
This thing looks right out of a nightmare. It takes skill to make a Bionicle based MOC look this cool, and even more to make it actually look scary. You can practically hear the roar of this sinister looking winged Makuta from builder Pate-keetongu.
I think it's safe to call Comic Bricks officially a "thing" now. Monsterbricks is back with another excellent cover MOC, this time a classic Batman cover. The dynamic duo look pretty amazing here, and I never thought I'd think that about a MOC featuring Hero Factory parts.
Where has the month gone? It's been super busy here at BrickNerd... building, blogging, lighting, shooting, premiering, writing, editing and organizing. Then I look up at the calendar and Nerdvember is 3/4 gone! Yes, there's just over a week left to get your submissions in so you better get building! Learn all about it here!
Would you believe this absolutely stunning gingerbread house was built by someone who's never actually had (a situation that needs to be corrected) a gingerbread house? Builder Swan Dutchman confesses to this fact in his description. As the holidays rapidly approach I know we'll have one of these at my house, but I know for a fact it won't be nearly as amazing as this delicious work of art.

I am irresistibly drawn to the simplicity and form of this image by mihaimariusmihu. As a MOC, it's deceptive in it's complexity, since overall it is mostly silhouetted and doesn't have much surface details. But look at all those converging shapes and angles, this is no small feat. The balance of the image is fantastic too,. While our subject is nearly dead center of frame (a photographic no no) the branches occupy an asymmetric and interesting composition, offering an excellent use of positive and negative space. Also, I'm craving a Tootsie Pop.
My love for all things Nintendo is well documented, so this collaborate series of MOCs from 6Kyubi6, 74louloute and fujiia instantly caught my eye. I haven't played MarioKart in quite some time, but I still have fond memories of playing with my boys (before they were too cool for Nintendo). Now I have to admit I want to go fire up the Wii!
Really how can you go wrong with big eyes, a small mouth, fantastic hair...and a tank! Builder MikeVd is back with another anime inspired MOC that I have no idea about, and this morning is too crazy to fake it with Google. OK, I know a little about it, she's from Girls Und Panzer, which brings together the natural combination of teenage girls and WWII weaponry.

Let's face it, City displays can get a little monotonous. Not to take anything away from the dedicated builders out there, but just like in real life, it tends to be box after box after box. But mix something like this graciously curved structure from lisqr among the buildings and wow! According to the minimal description this is called Pirate 100, but the interesting thing is that it's build on curving train track as it's base, that's some seriously out of the box (see what I did there?) thinking. I love the Seqway tour too.

What's that, Starbucks got your coffee wrong this morning? Loads of traffic on your commute? Well, as bad as that might be consider this Necromancer MOC by Dubbadgrim. Yeah it might have taken a little longer for you to get to work today, but at least you didn't release some sort of inter-dimensional being into this world.
