Join me live as I build LEGO 70161 from the new Ultra Agents line. I'm also going to give away some cool stuff!
I have an Ultra Agents Tremor Track Infiltrator I've been dying to build for a couple weeks, and I have a pile of stuff to give away to my generous supporters. Join me at 2pm PST!
It's not too late to get in on the love, we're happily taking donations for the BrickNerd Pledge Drive.
Nothing speaks of confidence than to roll on your enemy with supreme firepower painted bright yellow. This obnoxiously yellow landship (that's space_e's official title) sports three turrets and four treads in counter triangular configuration. And if that wasn't enough, it's also remote controlled with an adder-subtractor drive. It's a lumbering beast that is designed to dominate the battlefield, regardless of color.
Our pals over at The Brothers Brick are having a contest to celebrate the release of the sequel of the greatest B-movie ever, Sharknado! They want you to combine your enthusiasm for LEGO, extreme weather and large ocean predators and build a MOC worthy of this SyFy spectacular. head over to TBB FYI ASAP FTW.
Power Functions are awesome. There's just something magical that happens when you can bring a MOC to life with lights and motion. Well now there's something to take that magic to the next level, like exponentially to the next level. Some very smart people in the UK (Mark Bollobas and his team) have come up with a way to control PF over bluetooth with smartphones. And it's not just a bluetooth version of the standard IR block, this thing is supercharged with features. You can, among other things...
There are so many cool things you can do with this awesome bit of hardware, I can't imagine what users will do with it once it's in the wild. But for now they need your help to get to mass production so head over to their Kickstarter project and throw some love their direction!

Scientists researching the negative effects of men over 50 wearing speedos were startled today to discover a small snowman enjoying the summer heat and sun. Using instruments they had on hand they took several measurements and could not explain the apparent decelerated melt rate of the afore mentioned snow. After several hours study the team adjourned to a nearby hotel to study the data. It should be noted that during all that time it escaped the scientists attention that the snowman did indeed walk, talk, sing and wear a silly hat.
San Diego Comic Con is upon is, BrickCon is right around the corner, contests are planned and episodes of BrickNerd are backing up. The coffers are quite dry but we have all this cool stuff laying around the studio. So what can we do to rectify this? Pledge drive!
Let's be quite clear, this isn't a raffle or a purchase, this is you supporting BrickNerd, and us surprising several of you with tokens of our appreciation like we've done in the past. It will be fairly random, but I can say it's quite likely the greater the support, the better the odds and the perk.
Among the things in our box of mutual love is badge bricks, stickers, books, poly bags and various sized sets including The LEGO House and some Exo Suit thingy you've probably never heard of. There's also several screen-used MOCs from the animation done for Beyond The Brick: A LEGO Brickumentary. Yes, you can own a piece of cinema history.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. There is of course no end date to when we'll happily accept donations, but we'll be surprising supporters immediately and until the end of July. We'll probably give away some really cool stuff on the next LiveBuild so be sure to tune in for that! Use the button below to make a donation and best of luck!
Thanks for all your support, we love you!
UPDATE: Joe Meno has just added a one year subscription to BrickJournal to the box of love, thanks Joe!
I featured Crazy Bricks' skulls on episode 206 of BrickNerd. But even though I had a fairly generous handful of them, the thought of building something like this would have never occurred to me. I guess it speaks to V&A Steamworks' darker side that this is even a thing. I think maybe we should keep a close eye on Guy...just sayin'
Say what you will about 2002's Tom Cruise film Minority Report, there was some way cool design in that movie. From the gesture-based displays to the jet packs, there was cool tech everywhere you looked. But very little of it was as cool as the Lexus concept car, and now we can admire it in brick form thanks to Mad Physicist.
Having just returned from a wonder vacation in Hawaii, the timing on this MOC is perfect. Builder Miro78 as crafted the quintessential beach hut, where all the locals and the tourists can get some delicious fruit and lemonade. I wonder if they serve shave ice?
UPDATE: This has just been accepted as a LEGO Ideas project, head over and love on it.
Did you know Boba Fett was a rock star? Neither did I! I also never suspected Han Solo frozen in carbonite could double as an amp, but luckily M<0><0>DSWIM came along to enlighten us. Rock on Boba, rock on...
But do check out this excellent little Monopoly MOC by iridescent nohow. I've spent many, many hours playing this game in my life, and I always seem to lose. Unless we're playing my Star Wars special edition, then I win just for getting the Boba Fett piece.
The official BrickNerd YouTube channel just passed 75,000 views! This makes us very happy. If you haven't had chance to watch some of the videos on the channel you're missing out.
Head on over and check it out, it mostly doesn't suck.
Back in the 90's Todd MacFarlane's Spawn made waves in the comic world and then in the toy world. Now Orion Pax is here to make waves in the AFOL community with this amazing build of the title character. While I'm not a huge fan of customization, I have to say the paint work and modifications on this MOC are amazing.
We have a new weapon in the fight against the evil colonial empire, the Arc 170 PunkFighter. We have word that Commodore Tarkin and his right hand man Lord Byron von Vaderham have moved forces closer to the 180th parallel. This modern age vessel should help us turn the tide.

I'm seeking a lady who likes adventure, and isn't afraid of the dark. I enjoy the night life, I like to boogie. I really enjoy gadgets and dressing up for a evening on the town. I have my own car (several in fact) so I can pick you up. While I do spend plenty of time in my parent's basement, I actually own the house since I was orphaned as a child.
If interested please see Commissioner Gordon, he knows how to contact me.
Micro scale space dioramas always make my geeky heart go pitter patter. This one from Tim C76 makes it go boomshakashaka! Check out all the awesome detail in this thing, from the subtle use of trans blue throughout, to the bevel gears to add texture and my favorite detail the flex tubing in the large dishes to add windows around the edges of the biggest tower.
Ladies and gentleman of the jury, I submit to you this piece of evidence, a security camera shot from the night of the incident. As you can see, the defendant is clearly...wait for it...relishing (condiment humor) in his act. This wasn't a case of mistaken identity. This wasn't self defense. And this certainly wasn't a case of jaywalking. This was murder, cold and calculated.
