Is The Munsters On?

When I was a kid we only got six channels, and in the evening the same thing was on three of them. And color was around, but those TVs were expensive so B&W was way more common. And I Love Lucy seemed to be on every time we turned it on (or Leave it to Beaver, ugh). And if you held the antenna, and lifted a leg, you could *almost* get that episode of Twilight Zone. Oh, and we had remotes back then, ours was named Tommy. Regardless, this classic TV by Powerpig still manages to make me nostalgic.

I Don't Like Sushi

Me: "I don't care for sushi"

Typical Friend: "You just haven't had good sushi"

Me: "No really, I don't like it"

Typical Friend: "C'mon, just try this, it's awesome. Trust me."

Me: "well...ok, fine"

Tries sushi, doesn't like it.

Repeat

(that being said, I do like this sushi form Moko)

VTOL Gunship

This looks right out of a James Cameron movie. It's part apache, part harrier, part drop ship and all badass. I especially love the "remove before flight" tags on the weapons. I'm not sure if it's purist LEGO, but I don't care, it's a cool detail.

Hey! Listen!

As if there was any doubt I'd blog this. I know how you feel Link, Navi could be a bit of a nudge sometimes, but always well-meaning. This MOC by Legohaulic seems to have been in direct response to a MOC by Iron Builder rival Siercon and Coral. Yeah, it's on like Donkey Kong! (or at least Zelda). Fun fact, my alert sound on my phone is Navi saying "hey!"

Batwing

One of the best characters in The LEGO Movie was Batman in my humble opinion. And of course he had to have the best transportation. The highly accurate version of the Batwing from Brickmasta looks awesome, and really needs to be an official set (in fact, I'm really surprised it isn't). Nicely done.

Under The Sea

Disney's The Little Mermaid is one of my wife's favorite movies, so I was instantly drawn to this MOC by Karf Oohlu. It's not terribly complex, mostly just a bunch of crabs stuck together. But the use of the flame pieces and striking colors against a nice blue background makes this a visually appealing piece. Simple, but very effective.

Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Batman!

KAPOW! Check out this awesome Batmobile Cuusoo project of the classic 60's Batman. I can't decide what I love the most about this, that it's classic Adam West campiness, the design itself or the fact that it all started with a dad building a Batmobile for his daughter so Robin could ride along too. Regardless I want one, and if you want one too let's all support this project and make it a reality!

1941 Graham Hollywood

The cars of the 30's 40' and 50's were so damn cool. Design back then was just different, builders were craftsmen, and manufacturing focused on beauty and quality, not just sales. It seeped into all aspects of design, from architecture to kitchen appliances. But cars were particularly well designed. This version of the Hollywood by Rabidnovaracer is as beautiful as the car that inspired it.

Calvary Walker

I love a good unorthodox part use. Take this walker by Vince Toulouse, the hull is actually skate park ramps/arena corners. Most people would look at these parts and think "skate park", but an exceptional builder looks at it and thinks "ship hull" or "roof" or "robot head". There's just no end to what those little plastic parts can be, it's what I love about LEGO the most.

Super Robot

I'm guessing most of my readers are not old enough to remember robot toys like this one. Thankfully so am I (but mike no mistake, I'm OLD). But I do see them from time to time on display and this version of Horikawa's Super Robot by yo3l is pretty much perfect.

Breakfast Is Served

The competition is getting delicious in the latest round of Iron Builder. This waffle breakfast in bed by Legohaulic and Littlehaulic looks as appetizing as it is charming and impressive. Even the tray is brick-built.

Mushu

This is phenomenal. You all know I have a weakness for Disney and characters and this is absolutely stunning. From the clever techniques, to the color use, to the posing, it's just perfect. I especially like the use of new parts like the teeth and the eyes, love it!

Happy Easter!

It's Easter morning. I noticed the bunny was here and I spotted some LEGO in my basket. Soon the house will smell like spiral cut ham and I'll be gorging on chocolate and playing with bricks, does it get any better? I didn't notice if there were any Peeps in my basket, but I think I like these from Siercon and Coral better anyway. Happy Easter everyone!

Starfury

When people look back on Babylon 5 they usually seem to be nostalgic or somewhat resentful.  Most agree it was cut down in it's prime. I just know it as that show all my friends were working on. The ship design and visual effects were certainly prominent features of the show, and this version on the Starfury by Rogue Bantha is faithful and awesome.

Blacktron Mansion

For Rent:

Luxurious loft apartment with adjacent landing pad. This amazing glass enclosed loft overlooks the wondrous black tar sea of Karkonia. The attached landing platform will accommodate most personal craft (plasma induction lift thrusters not recommended) and is situated low to preserve the view. Easy access to the lower level state-of-the-art kitchen and pilot ready room. Soak away the stresses of intergalactic travel with the indulgent Jacuzzi located on the second floor. Available mid-May, serious inquiries only.

Crimson Loftwing

You all know what a big Nintendo and Zelda fan I am, so to discover this awesome MOC in my Flickr feed this morning resulted in much grinniness. Builder Siercon and Coral are presently engaged in a battle royale with Legohaulic and Littlehaulic in another Iron Builder. The seed part is the 1x2 curved slope you see so perfectly used on the wingtips. Now I want to play a little Skyward Sword.

Nice build [Rhymes_Shelter]!

Micro Classic Space

Having spent so much time lately with this classic LEGO icon, this micro version of the Galaxy Explorer by Legonardo Davidy caught my eye instantly. It's got the contouring to make it reminiscent of good old 497, but enough panache to make it neo classic space. And it was built in one night, impressive!

Hynphorka

I am not entirely sure what a Hynphorka is to be honest, I'm having a hard time typing the name of this MOC out correctly, much less even pronouncing it right. Hynph-whatcha-ma-call-it aside, this is stellar ship, dripping with all kinds of crazy cool. Ricardo Soa has made great use of Bionicle and traditional LEGO bricks and successfully weaved them together to make this bad boy stick out. I'm hoping the alien that pilots this bad boy is friendly to us humans. Though, looking at the the missiles and laser cannons on this thing I imagine not. I could just see this thing strafing a remote human colony reaping souls along the way.

The video pretty much speaks for itself, give it a view
