Townhouses

Life in the big city means two things, endless choices on where to eat, and stacked humans. I've never lived in an apartment or townhouse such as this excellent micro scale version by T.Oechsner, but I've always been fascinated by them. I imagine it might get tiresome if you lived above something like a music store, but above a lovely cafe or bagel shop, mmmmm.

I Shall Build A Round Table, And A Hall About The Table, And A Castle About The Hall

Sorry, couldn't resist a little nod to one of my all time favorite movies, Excalibur. This build by Disco86 is just stunning. Everything is so clean and well presented. And that curved wall is amazing. I can't imagine how much tension that is under, but the stressed bricks are worth it when it call comes together this well.

LEGO Time Machine

You don't need to go 88mph, or hop in a TARDIS, or even a hot tub to travel through time, all you need is some bricks and mad skills. This quaint 1950's living room by {YVD} is 100% LEGO (with the exception of the wool) and absolutely charming. I find myself instantly transported to my grandmother's house. And now I'm craving pie.

The Fridge

This exceptionally cool mech comes from kwi-chang. And while it's designation is LHB-023, I like it's nickname, Fridge. There's tons of sweet details on this guy, but by far my favorite is the second set of arms that fold back when not in use. Click through for many more pictures of this beauty.

Iain Heath (Ochre Jelly) can always be relied on for a laugh. And his take on Jean-Claude Van Damme's viral sensation Epic Split is no exception.

Wibbly Wobbly Vic Viper

On this, the 50th anniversary of Dr. Who, which falls in the month of Novvember, what could be more appropriate than a TARDIS Vic Viper? Sure it's bigger inside, but did you ever imagine it transformed into a fighter?

Rhosgobel, The Dwelling Of Radagast

We're just weeks away from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and the timing is perfect for this lush MOC by Legopard. It features the eccentric and naturalistic house of Radagast the brown (yes, the wizard with the bird under his hat).

Nola Vivace

This lovely beast springs from the imagination of Lego Builders. According to the designer it's influenced by the Ferrari 458 Italia, McLaren MP4-12C, and Rossion Q1. All I know is it would be right at home in a Bond movie or ripping around the track on Top Gear. Or perhaps a certain Bruce Wayne would be interested in a test drive.

I Am Iron Man!

Iron Man has always been my favorite super hero. I didn't read many comics as a kid, but when I did, it was Spiderman or Iron Man. And of course the movies are outstanding (the first is still my favorite, but I always prefer the genesis stories). This rendition of the mark VII armor by mmccooey makes my geek heart soar.

1930's Fire Engine

This little fire engine from Brickthing is loaded with oodles of clever building. Everywhere you look there's something really interesting going on. I especially like the front fender attachments and the angled body sides, very cool.

The Crow's Nest

I love this, I absolutely love it. The snow, the design, the colors, the techniques, all amazing. There seems to be a growing trend to this building style. And while it seems totally unstable by classic building standards, what it lacks in structural integrity it more than makes up for in sheer wow factor.

Cool Tree Technique

I don't post techniques very often, but I think this is very clever. 6kyubi6 shared this palm tree technique, and it's some of the best palms I've ever seen.

The Rat

Batman has driven some amazing cars over the years, but you've never seen him in anything this insane. Tiler's quickly becoming one of my favorite car builders. His style is agressive and whimsical at the same time, and his photography is top-notch.

American Graffiti

I remember seeing American Graffiti when I was a kid. It couldn't have been when it was originally released because I was only 5, but I remember seeing it in a theater (we mainly went because it had Richie Cunningham and cool cars in it). I do recall being quite smitten with this beast, and I still am, especially rendered in my favorite bricks by none other than the Mad Physicist himself.

Strahl H.A.F.S. GORGON

This is a pretty awesome combination of color, detail and style. Although I question the practicality of a tripod design (there's a reason these don't really exist) I have to admit they look badass. Nice work nate_decastro

Kathar Starfighter

Vic Vipers are aplenty these days, and it's hard to stand out in the crowd. But this one from stenertje caught my eye. It has a utilitarian and gritty nature to it. I really like the cockpit and that broken dish just adds to the grunge, very cool.

Dippy

These dapper gentlemen and lady are very proud of the museum's latest acquisition, the full skeleton of Diplodocus carnegii. The use of different small elements to diminish scale, like the clips moving to minifig hands along the tail, is fantastic. And the overall proportioning is splendid. Nice work, MolochBaal.

Turkey Day Is Almost Here

Everyone's getting ready for the holidays. Traditionally Thanksgiving kicks things off, but I was seeing Christmas crap in Michael's in August. Anyway, if you like football, drunk distant relatives and copious amounts of food, Thanksgiving is your day. And you only have a little more than a week to wait. Mr. Rancor couldn't wait, but thanks to DigiNik13 and this awesome picture, we can all look forward to a little gobble gobble.
