Splatoon

I've heard people talking about it, just yesterday in fact. I've seen the ads. I've even heard the rockin' music. But I've never played Splatoon, or even seen the gameplay for that matter (just don't have time to play games anymore) But that doesn't mean I don't dig this MOC. I don't need to know what they're from to appreciate the awesome characters in this build by Nick Brick

M REF BARON

As I get older I find that it is the small things that kick off memories of my childhood and this gun-suit did just that. I can remember one specific summer in my youth watching back-to-back-to-back episodes of Gundam Wing with my cousin every morning for a week while on vacation. This suit may not be from Gundam Wing, but it sure would fit right in. One thing I really like about this build by Lu Sim is the "weight" of the various sections. In traditional anime style various parts are over-exaggerated in size and pointy at just the right.. erm... points... Also, +10 nerd points for being in BrickNerd colors!

Technic '59 Caddy

Cadillac, the name is synonymous with quality. And now builder martijnnab22 has built the Cadillac of Technic MOCs (see what I did there?) with this sweet '59 Eldorado Biarritz 1959 Convertible. It's loaded with features including independent suspension, power functions remote control, lighting, locking doors and more. Check out the video to see them all.

Blank Canvas

I have a deep affection for vintage VW. My first car was a beetle (well, technically it was a Chevy Luv, but that died awfully quick) and I also owned a bus for a while, and someday I'd like to own one again. And restoring one, as depicted in this brilliant MOC by Norton74, is a far off dream of mine. One that requires free time...and a garage not full of LEGO.

If you're a Transporter fan (or car fan in general) do yourself a favor and click through to Norton's photostream, there's a lot to love there.

Conventions are hectic places. Meeting old and new friends, keeping an eye on the schedule, participating in events and trying to take it all in can get you stressed out in no time. So I stepped away for a few minutes to blog and found this. Can a MOC actually calm you down? This bonsai tree by Powerpig seems to have. Just looking at it made me smile and go "ahhh", and throttle back a bit., which is exactly what I needed.

Incredible Cross-Section Falcon

This is awesome! Builder Titans Creations has crafted the single best Millennium Falcon MOC I've ever seen. Right out of the pages of one of those Amazing Cross-Section books this thing is a wonder of detail. Everywhere you look there is something cool, it's just mind-blowing. It's currently on display at LEGOLAND Malaysia, and I wish I could go see it in person.

Working LEGO Clock Has As Much Form As It Has Function

Builder gonkius has crafted a thing of beauty here, a fully functional clock with an NXT at it's core. This isn't some fancy trick clock with a motor driving the hands, it's a fully functional clockwork with an escapement and pendulum. It's a wonder of LEGO engineering, and beautifully built, and it's just as gorgeous with it's skin on. Check out the video to see it in action and click through for more pictures.

The Bane Of Many An Existence

I'm an early riser, just how I am. Maybe it's being a father, or maybe from being a professional, or maybe my cat just knows when to come sit on my bladder. Whatever it is I don't need an alarm clock, at least not usually. But I know many, many out there do, and the sound they make is enough to give them the heebie jeebies when played back at any hour. This MOC by KOSbricks has one major advantage over real alarm clocks, it doesn't actually make noise, so the temptation to smash it to smithereens shouldn't be a problem.

High and Mighty

That's what Genghis Don calls his new GARC racer.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with this theme, GARC stands for Galactic Asteroid Rally Circuit.  Now, it's common knowledge that the possibility of successfully navigating an asteroid field is approximately three thousand seven hundred and twenty to one.  Yeah, yeah, never tell you the odds... But this thing looks pretty fast, so my money's on these guys!

The fairest lady of them all...

The Datsun 240Z (known as the "Fairlady" on the shores of its home country) is one of the most iconic Japanese sports cars of all time. In his usual inimitable fashion, Tiler has created a version in the brick that is immediately recognizable. Extra kudos on the photography, which is as clean as a Hutt's dinner plate. I take that back - a Hutt would likely eat the plate as well.

The Most Feared Bounty Hunter

He is the stuff of legends. Think about it, Boba Fett has been tantalizing us since 1979. First we mailed away to get a figure, just to discover his rocket didn't shoot. Then he became our favorite character with only a couple of lines and brief scenes. Then he was dispatched unceremoniously in the sarlaac pit in Jedi, only to have supposedly escaped in the expanded universe. Then his origin was revealed and his voice changed, what the heck? Regardless, he's still a badass, and everyone loves him, especially builder nobu_tary, who created this awesome MOC.

Godzilla!

I grew up on Godzilla movies and Toho classics. Where I live we had a thing called the Saturday Morning Film Festival, and while they tended to play movies I wasn't really interested in most of the time (and WAY too much Popeye), every once in a while we'd get treated to some Tokyo stompin' action. So I have an affinity to this big green lizard. And as if this version by legorobo:waka wasn't mind-blowing enough, it also walks, opens his mouth and moves his eyes! Be sure to check out the video below for all the action and a cameo by Mothra.
