Tiny Transformers

What has less than 50 pieces, transforms and is adorable? These guys. M<0><0>DSWIM decided to take a break from bigger MOCs and do a little micro building, and these are the results. These could be an entire series of cool little polybags, if only LEGO had this license.

On a day like today, when all Americans bathe in the glory of corporate sponsorship (it's Super Bowl Sunday) It seems fitting that this MOC should pop up in my Flickr feed. Builder toms_h@rt shows us just how enterprising GARC racers fund their sport, and catch the spectator's eyes.

"No One Back Home Is Going To Believe This"

While I've always thought that the name oliphaunt was just silly, these four-tusked behemoths were quite impressive in Lord Of The Rings. And this mini fig scale version by Simply Complex is every bit as impressive, and huge. This was built for the Middle Earth LEGO Olympics over on MOCpages, and will be certainly turn some heads.

UNSC Spirit of Fire

After four years of planning and building, Mark Kelso has finally unveiled his monster reproduction of the Halo ship Spirit of Fire. And the results are spectacular. At a massive 7 feet long, no detail is too small to include in this masterpiece. Mark took every effort to hide as many studs as possible and successfully pulled off some great angles to model this ship as close to the original as possible. In fact, if you weren't reading a LEGO blog you might think this ship is an actual 3D model.

Now if only someone could convince him to bring it to Brickworld Chicago 2014 so we can all see it in person...

Blacktron Brood Stalker

Blacktron MOCs are rare anymore, especially ones as cool as this offering from -=Steebles=-. The mechanical linkages look real enough to make this thing walk. And all black or mostly black models are notoriously hard to photograph (no really, don't do it to yourself!) especially in such a way they can be seen against a black background, this is well done.

Beautiful Abandonment

Here at BrickNerd we like to look back from time to time, like that time some guy no one had heard of came out of his dark ages and BOOM, we get this. I believe my original response to this jaw-dropping MOC was "whhaaaaaaaaaa?". Mike Doyle has since established himself as a brick artist of the first calibre, and his book Beautiful LEGO has been a big hit. I'm honored to have been included in it.

Bobcat Tri-Maran Minelayer Ship

This craft by Lego Junkie looks like it's from a movie. Actually, it's designed so well, it almost looks like a real vessel, yet at the same time from a sci-fi epic. I especially like the level of detail on the deck, from the weapons to the rails, it's a beauty.

Mustang

She's one of the most iconic muscle cars ever created, the Ford Mustang. Whether you're a fan or not, you can't deny the influence and popularity of this little sports car that burst onto the scene in 1964. Now Peteris Sprogis has created one of the finest reproductions in brick I've ever seen, it's just awesome.

Pirate Rock

This excellent pirate MOC comes to us from Fraslund. Originally started as a CCCXI entry, time ran out. And while it may have not been entered in the contest, I think we can all agree it's a winner. There's so much to love here, I highly recommend clicking through and looking at the high res pictures, it's loaded with detail.

Simplicity in design is difficult. Most attempts at simplicity only achieve an unfinished state, and most fail. But not this MOC by Djokson. I love the simple lines, uncluttered details and perfect proportions of this MOC.

You Might Want To Squint While Viewing This

The LEGO Movie premiere release is right around the corner, and everything is awesome. Fan MOCs are cropping up all over but none as stunning as this faithful recreation of the coliseum by Imagine™. Using only the trailers as reference he has recreated this masterpiece, and it's stunning.

Talk To The Hand

Anyone who's ever gotten to the end of Super Smash Brothers should recognize this. I've always been more of an explorer and puzzle solver gamer, and challenges like this one frustrate me to no end. The trick here is to charge your armor, and go into a ball as the fist comes down...

Three More Join The Party

I've been watching the development of this series of MOCs with great interest. Since my original post back in October, Pate-keetongu has created three more Dwarves from Peter Jackson's The Hobbit. I look forward to the day when the entire party is in a single shot, it will be epic.

I cannot Tell A Lie...You Are Gonna Die

Being a patriot means a lot of things to a lot of people. Perhaps you never forget to put the flag out on July 4th. Maybe you remember to always remove your hat during the National Anthem. And maybe you're a robotic civil war badass with a gatling gun built by Carlmerriam.

Venetian War Galley

Mark of Falworth is a regular here on BrickNerd and for good reason as he is constantly turning out excellent MOCs including his latest, the Venetian War Galley. I can just smell the salt of the sea and feel the wind in my hair coasting along in this ship and boy does that beach look inviting. It really makes you long for summer doesn't it?

Firestorm Heavy Interceptor

I love this little space ship. From the symmetrical design to the meaty, over-sized engines, the details are perfection. With enough neon to make the 1980s jealous, you'll see this little guy coming from miles away. But not to worry, what it lacks in size it makes up for in power. The Firestorm Heavy Interceptor can hold its own, packing enough heat to outfit a small squadron.

Dino-tastic
